6 hours had passed since Robert broke the news to his parents about Rosamund. They were planning there next move. Cora had gone home and left Robert and his family to it. She didn't want to be a distraction to Robert, aspecially when the Crawley family were going through such a crisis. Patrick had sent a telegram to his sister, Lily who lived in London. If anyone could stop Rosamund from marrying Mamaduke then it would be Lily. She was Patrick's only sibling and they kept in frequent contact and visited each other regularly. Lily doted on Rosamund. Lily had only two sons, Louis and Benjamin. She always wished for a daughter however it was never meant to be. So when Violet had given birth to Rosamund, Lily visited more and had been the one to debut her in London. Of course Violet wasn't pleased, she wanted to be the one to debut her daughter. Lily was very different with Robert. She tret him like her two sons. Lily had the same amount of love for Robert and Rosamund. The only difference was that she yerned to have a daughter. Even when Rosamund got older, Lily still played a major role in her life. Violet always envied there close relationship. Patrick was the exact opposite, he loved that his sister wanted to be a part of his daughters life. That she wanted to help Rosamund on her journey.

Patrick, Violet and Robert were in the dining room having dinner. There was obvious tension and silence reined over the family. Violet sat eating her dinner witha sour expression plastered cross her face. Patrick was just starring down at his soup and Robert looked back and forth from his parents.

"Papa, do you think the telegram will really Aunt Lily on time?"

"I'm not sure son. I do hope so"

"Would it be so terrible if Rosamund and Mamaduke married? At the end of the day Rosamund's happiness is all that matters"

Violet's spoon clattered against the bowl.

"Robert, do you hear yourself? Mamaduke is merely a banker. A banker with no prospects, hardly any money and he is defiantly not good enough for my daughter!"

"He's not good enough for you. Mama, Rosamund knew that all you ever wanted was for her to marry a man with a title and estate. She didn't want that"

"Robert does have a point dear"

"Not you to Patrick, look I see that there is no point on me continuing this conversation. All I have left to say is I hope that Lily finds her in time before the damage is done"

The door opened and in came the under butler. He handed the head Butler an envelope.

"Telegram your Ladyship"

Violet took it and opened the envelope. She started to read.

"What does it say dear and who is it from?"

Violet looked up from the letter. She was astonished.

"It's from Lily....... She didn't get there in time. When she finally got to the registry office, they were all ready married"

Dun dun duhhhhhhh!
