The evening at Downton swiftly continued and it was Cora's turn to meet Robert's relatives. She approached Violet and Patrick with Robert. Cora was very nervous.
Stood with Violet and Patrick was Robert's Aunt Lily, her sons Louis and Benjamin, Rosamund with her husband Mamaduke and Violet's god daughters Catherine, Frances and Elizabeth.
"Robert aren't you going to introduce me to your bride?" Prompted Lily.
"Oh yes, Cora I would like you to meet my Aunt Lily and my cousins Louis and Benjamin"
"Oh my dear it's good to finally meet you"
Lily took Cora by surprise and hugged Cora. She pulled away and shuck hands with Louis and Benjamin.
"Its nice to meet you all"
"Come Cora let me introduce you to my Mama's god daughters. I have a feeling that you will all get on very well"
He then grabbed her hand and walked over to them.
"Catherine, Frances and Elizabeth this is my soon to be wife Cora"
"Well your not what I expected" said a snappy Frances.
"Yes. Violet told us you were very drab"
Robert rolled his eyes.
Cora starred at Robert and Frances and Elizabeth left to go circulate.
"Don't listens to them. Frances and Elizabeth are very close to our god mother and feel like they owe her there loyalty. Hello Cora it's nice to meet you"
"You to Catherine. I must say your alot more polite than Frances and Elizabeth"
"Well I consider that a complinent Cora. Unlike Frances and Elizabeth I have manners and don't go around being fed with a silver spoon"
"Oh?"
"Don't get me wrong Cora I am too rich. I just choose not to gloat like the others do"
Cora smiled at Catherine.
"You know Cora. I think you and I are going to get along fine. I'm very happy that Robert has met somebody that makes his smile the way you do"
Cora looked up at Robert and he looked down at her. They both smiled intently and shared an intimate kiss.
