WHAT?! SHADOWS, HOW DARE YOU THOUGHT U WER A CRISTAIN!!!!!!
No, I'm kidding. I am a daughter of Christ who makes a habit of telling every one of my non-Christian family members and friends that they're all going to suffer a terrible fate if they don't follow my God, and that I can't associate with them because they're heathen and children of the devil. They don't like it, they call me brainwashed and rude, but it's the truth, and by golly I'm gonna share it until they realize how wrong they are! The day I win their souls over for Jesus will be the day I am most proud of, because I knew that God would do it and trusted Him this whole time. Gosh, if God hadn't done it, I probably would have said that they were blinded by Satan and that God must hate them because of their sin! They should have known that it wasn't gonna make God happy! Now they'll pay for it! And I'll be up in Heaven laughing at them and watching as they burn!
On a happier note, you know what I did for my church this past week? I put $200 in the plate! Yes, that's right $200! Now that money could have gone to groceries or something that I actually wanted, but I gave it up for God. I feel so humbled and blessed. I just wanted to talk about it because that's how God moved me this week. Oh, and there was a person in jeans and with crazy person hair. She looked like she was homeless! It was so bad! Didn't she realize she was in a church!?!?
I just don't understand where her decency was! I'm sure the pastor reprimanded her, but if not, I guess I'll take it upon myself to do it next week. After all, honesty is a gift!
:/ Oh. . .
Some of you may think I'm bragging. . .
.
.
..
.
.No, actually. . .I'm lying (forgive me, Lord).
×D Oh, good! I thought you were really being serious there! Worried me, Shadows!
Nope, and if by me being a "Christian" you mean a girl perfect and righteous in all her ways, one who is straight in all her paths and therefore reliable to be depended on for giving the absolute truth with no mistake, and never lets any sin be made by her. . .
.
.
..
.
.Then no. . .I'm not a Christian.
If by "Christian" you mean a sinner that happens to enjoy certain sins and fails God everyday. . . If you mean someone who would rather sympathize and help the people that others want to ignore or push away, or the one that would accept you even if you didn't believe the same things I did or happen to indulge in sins that I don't. . .
.
.
.Then yes, I suppose I'm a "Christian" in your eyes, but does it make me a Christian in my eyes?
What makes a Christian, guys?
Google defines a Christian in a few ways:
"Christian
of, relating to, or professing Christianity or its teachings.
'the Christian Church'informal
having or showing qualities associated with Christians, especially those of decency, kindness, and fairness.noun
a person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Jesus Christ and his teachings."
That's it. No sects, denominations, or anything that would suggest that one type of Christian is any more right than the next.
But I don't want Google's definition, I want God's definition.
What is God's definition of a Christian? I'm asking you to help me answer this question, because it's important for all of us. Each of us probably differ a little bit in our ideas. So instead of trying to teach you how to define yourself, I'll give you verses for you to read and interpret yourself. If you want to have a conversation about them, then we can do it. Maybe I'll even add more later. For now I'll leave these:
•••
John 1:12
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
•••
John 3:3
Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
•••
Romans 10:9
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
•••
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
•••
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
•••
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
•••
Acts 2:38-41
And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself." And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, "Save yourselves from this crooked generation." So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
•••
John 14:1-31
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going." Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?"
•••
John 15:18
"If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.

(By the way someone actually did say "I'll be up in Heaven laughing at you and watching you as you burn!" to me before I became a Christian.)
