One Week Later
It's been a week since Benson broke into my parents place. They have upped the security around there place and I've done the same for mine. Abi has been shaken up since he came into her room. Every night I have to leave a night light on for her and she even asks Landon and I to check under the bed and in the closet.
It's hard for me to watch my daughter being afraid to sleep from her father sneaking into her room and talking to her. He should have come to me face to face and then we would have done the adult thing and sit down and talk. But, no, he couldn't do that.
Landon enters the bedroom and he lies on the bed next to me. He pulls me into his arms. He kisses my cheek. "What are you thinking about, Mikayla?"
I turn in his arms. "I'm thinking about my daughter's father and wondering why he didn't come to me like a normal person instead of creeping around the house. He shouldn't have snuck into her bedroom and talk to her in the middle of the night." I sigh. "I need to look for him."
Landon shakes his head. "I don't want you to go near him. He was the one responsible for everything that happened to Abi. He could be dangerous."
I rise. "I'm dangerous too. I have a license to kill and hand to hand combat skills. I intend to use everything I was taught by the Mafia."
He rises and holds my arms. "If you go anywhere near him I promise you that I will have Blayze trail you and make himself known to Benson."
I cross my arms. "You wouldn't call him."
Landon pulls his phone out of his pocket and he calls Blayze. The phone starts to ring and he looks at me. "Hey, Man. It's Landon."
I grab the phone from Landon. "Don't tell him."
"Hello?" I hear Blayze say.
I put the phone to my ear. "Hey, Blayze. Can you help me with something?"
"For you I'll do anything, Kay. What do you need?"
I look at Landon. "I want to meet with Abi's father. But, Landon is worried about me doing that alone. He thinks its best that I have someone comes with me."
"I'll come with you, Mikayla. You should listen to Landon more. He's going to be more protective of you since you are pregnant with his child. I was the same way with Aurora when she was pregnant with our second child. She gave me hell for being overprotective."I laugh.
Through the phone I hear Aurora say. "Shut up!" Then she says. "Can I talk to Kay, please?"
"Aurora wants to talk to you. How about I come over in the next half hour and then we can see if we can find where he's hiding out."
"Thanks, Blayze. I'll see you then."
"Hey, Kay," Aurora says. "I hope you can keep my husband safe. I want him to come home safely." She stops talking for a moment. "It sucks that you leave one problem and you're faced with the next. That's the way I felt when Blayze and I had the problems with the Getti Family last year. I had help from the girls towards the end."
"Aurora, I can't keep getting the girls and you involved in my problems. This is the one that I need to face on my own.""Mummy, I'm hungry." I turn around and see my daughters by the door in their pyjamas. Bex has duck slippers on her feet and she is holding a teddy bear in her arms. Abi has Tweety slippers on her feet and she has her arms wrapped around her sister.
I cover the phone with my hand. "Daddy's in the kitchen. He'll make you something." The girls walk away. "I have to go too, Aurora. The girls want breakfast."
