The hustle and bustle backstage was going crazier than normal. The postponement of the concerts made fans angry, making the Jonas team work harder than usual. Guards were running back and forth while others stayed put where they were directed to stay. I sat to the side with my backstage laminate around my neck, looking at everyone speaking into headsets and others fixing up last minute projects. I bit onto my bottom lip as I wondered how it would be like if I was ever in the industry. So many people would be setting up and making everything perfect just for me.
"Well aren't you looking gorgeous!" Nick said as he surprised me, hugging me from behind. I smiled and kissed him softly. Joe and Kevin trailed behind their brother and made faces at us. I could feel my cheeks blush under their stares.
"Oh goodness! Please stop! I don't want to see this!" Joe pleaded as he got on his knees, making everyone laugh.
"Joseph cut it out! It's almost time to head out on stage!" Kevin said as everyone was still laughing. The boys huddled together with their band mates. "Lets pray guys! Lord, you are everything! We thank you for what you have done in all of our lives..." Kevin continued to pray.
Nick then looked over to where I was standing and he gestured for me to come next to him. I hurried over with a smile on my face and joined their prayer circle. Once Kevin finished off, all of us said "Amen" and the boys lined up by the side of the stage. "Knock 'em dead boys! I'll be over here," I said and smiled as they jumped up and down, full of adrenaline. I moved over to the side, giving them enough room. Joe began doing his push ups and Kevin grabbed his guitar as did Nick.
"And now, who you have all been waiting for.... The. Jonas. Brothers!" the voice over the speakers said. The audience immediately went wild as the three brothers ran onto the stage. The lights hit their faces at the right angles and they were looking flawless. Nick had his serious face on as Joe was working up the crowd. Kevin was strumming away at his guitar, amping up the crowd. The band joined in and I could feel how much the crowded loved this band. Not as much as I did of course.
The music was loud, the audience was pumped and the first song to play was one everyone knew. "Hold On" was heard throughout the theater and my eyes were looking around. Girls were shoving and pushing to get to the front while others were crying and singing along, so happy to be here at the concert. The adrenaline got me pumped and I began dancing around to the music. My feet jumped off the ground, making my hair bounce everywhere as I danced to the beat of the music.
"When you love someone, and they break your heart, don't give up on love, have faith restarts, just hold on!" I was scream singing along as the boys sang and they played their instruments. Nick had his green electric guitar in hand, while Kevin had his acoustic, and Joe was owning the tambourine. The crowd went crazy as they ended their opening number then the boys introduced themselves.
The crowd was wild, I was happy I wasn't getting smashed by all the girls. "You are a wonderful singer," a voice behind me shocked me and I turned to see an unfamiliar face. I looked around me and looked back to him confused. "Yes, I'm talking to you," he said and chuckled, "My name is Brandon Carter, I'm a musical scout, a friend of the boys."
I shook his hand, embarrassed at the thought that he listened to me sing. "Nice to meet you Mr. Carter, I'm Jazmin. A personal friend of the boys," I stated and smiled at him politely. The two of us let go of the others hand and we looked at each other.
"Pleasure to meet you Jazmin. I will be looking for you after the show," he said and smiled as he walked away from me. His hair was almost a bleach blond. Almost too blond for my eyes to handle. His eyes were a hazel, a color between green and brown. They were marvelous.
