Caddice and Nancy didn't talk to each other the whole week. I hated seeing them being mad at each other.

Because of the stupidest reason.

Because of a stupid boy.

Nancy and Caddice aren't the same like they used to be.

It sucks but you get used to it. I mean they are like that since high school so you kind of think it's normal.

At that time I was being friends with everyone. With Nancy, Caddice and Chelsea. But what if I tell you that I almost messed everything up with my childhood best friend? You wouldn't believe it, right?

Well... It actually happened.

"Finally!" Jace shouted and lied on the bed. I lied next to him letting out a deep breath.

"It's perfect." I breathed sitting on the bed. He didn't mind sitting up next to me.

"We're going to get a straight A, baby." He exclaimed and whistled when he finished his sentence. I laughed and stood up. I grabbed the model of the heart, Jace and I, just created and put it on my desk looking at it proudly.

I turned around to talk to Jace when two strong arms pushed me against the wall. Jace was smirking at me and without warning he crashed his lips on to mine. I kissed him back passionately when he took his shirt off. I smirked at the sight is his perfectly shaped abs.

He started kissing my neck gently causing me to close my eyes. I couldn't do that. I pushed him away and he looked at me confused. I bit my bottom lip.

"I'm hungry." I let out and he started laughing.

"Whatever my princess wants." That's all he said before grabbing my hand and making me follow him downstairs.

He cooked for both of us an omelette which was the only thing he knew how to cook. He was cooking shirtless and let me tell you, seeing a guy with back muscles tensing all the time, cooking, is the most attractive thing ever.

"It's good." I reassured him as I took a big bite from the omelette. He looked at me laughing almost choking with his food.

"You eat like a pig." He started laughing louder and I just kept a serious face.

"I may eat like a pig but you're the one who is a pig." I smiled cheekily.

"Savage." He said stopping his laughter and continuing to eat. I did the same thing.

At that point of my life I knew that something was going to happen between me and Jace. He's just amazing. He is kind and all of that stuff and I started falling for him.

For real.

But I didn't want to accept it. So I would always keep a distance between me and him. I would friend zoned him every time he was complementing me, even though I was melting inside.

I wanted him to always be there for me. I wanted him to stay over night and just sleep with me in the most innocent way possible.

He was the reason I was smiling.

He still is though.

There was a knock on the door causing me to stop eating and go open the door. I opened the door and saw Nancy standing there with a mad expression on her face. Fuck.

"Nancy? What are you doing here?" I asked closing the door a little bit. She kept looking at me like she wanted to kill me.

"Oh umm... I called your aunt to tell her that my mom wanted to see her today because as you said she was coming, but you know what she said? She laughed and said that she will be coming probably next year because she's too busy." I kept silent and looked at my feet. "You lied to me." Nancy's voice cracked.

"I can explain. Really I-"

"No. I thought we were friends. And friends don't lie to each other. I just can't believe you did that to me." She cut me off and my eyes started to water when Jace decided to come beside me. He put a hand on my waist and came closer to see Nancy out of the door.

"Oh." He simply said. Nancy chuckled bitterly.

"Are you joking? What are you doing here? Shirtless." She said checking Jace out. He coughed.

"I can explain everything. Just come inside and we are going to talk. Please." I said but she shook her head.

"No." She simply said and walked away. I wanted to shout and tell her what is really going on but I knew she wouldn't hear. I closed the door with a thud and tears started to make their appearance on my eyes. Jace just spread his arms to hug me but I pulled away.

"I can't do this anymore." My voice cracked. Jace looked at me confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"We need to cancel the deal. I can't do that anymore. It destroyed my friendship with Nancy. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have gotten in this situation." I told him.

"Oh so it's my fault!" He raised his voice a little. I just watched him shocked.

"What? No, i'm just talking about the deal." I reassured him but he chuckled.

"So you regret everything?"

"Oh my God, don't do that to me, Jace." I pleaded.

"If you think that even meeting me was a mistake then i'm done." He said stepping closer to the door. I stopped him by grabbing his arm.

"No! I don't regret a fucking thing. But we both know that this deal can't continue anymore. We are going in college or university in a couple of months and we are doing the stupidest thing above all. We are being friends with benefits when we aren't even friends."

That's when I knew I totally messed everything up between me and Jace.

"Oh, you're the reason i'm smiling again and you tell me we are not friends? Well, i'm sorry Mel for not being good enough to be a friend to you." He said and walked out of the door. I lied on the couch and cried remembering that Jace has forgotten his shirt at my place.

At least I have something left from him.

This is a short story so it'll only have another three chapters until the end. I'm sorry but don't worry, I feel like my writing, grammar and vocabulary are getting better so my next books are going to be better than my first ones. Also they are going to have more chapters (over thirty) - I hope so -And since I feel like I now know what's my style on writing and what I want to write, my stories are only getting better.

Please don't be shy to comment your thoughts on my book and give feedback so that I know if I can continue writing (i'm not going to stop writing though since that's what I really want to do in life). Thank you, again, for reading this book, I really appreciate it, you have no idea.

Have a nice day, and be awesome :)
