"Everything's Fine."

She pulled at her fingers,
Releasing her demons.
She tried to drown them,
But they could swim.

The brown rope hangs
From her closet ceiling.
"Everything's fine."
She whispers to the wind.

Her glossy green eyes,
Weren't always so lifeless.
Her mind wasn't always
So dark.

Her lips don't stayed sealed
As she steps towards her end,
They just can't stop saying,
"Everything's fine."

Then two hours later,
When her mother walked in,
Just to find what her daughter
Had done...

She caught sight of some paper.
A pale wrinkled note.
One written with soft,
Caring hands.

It was short, sad, and sweet.
And a reassuring site.
Paper pale as her daughter's
Dead skin.

"Mom,"
The note said,
Paper, still soaked
With her tears.

It was her last two words.
The nicest two words.
The best words of hope
Ever said;

"Everything's fine."
