Last year was the year
Of diet pills and surgery
And a mind that wouldn't settle
For anything shy of "skinny"I used to hate feeling full
And appreciated hunger
The way my stomach rumbled
Begging for caloriesI used to love the feeling
Of drinking cold water
On an empty stomach
Glass after glassI loved to feel the coolness
As it would run down
From my mouth to my stomach
Quieting my body's criesBut times change
And people stray
Opinions differ
And "skinny" becomes lameAt least in my eyes
That are no longer blind
I eat when I'm hungry
And drink water with mealsIt's no longer cool
To look unhealthy
And girls can be curvy
Without being shamed~S.J. Chance
