Chapter 29- I Think I'm Being Hormonal
Emma's Point of View
“Why is your breath minty?”
I grin over at my boyfriend sheepishly. “Because I brushed my teeth, goofball.”
He frowns in confusion and looks over at me. We’re both laying down in his bed and it’s Saturday morning. After going to the café last night, I’d texted Caroline and told her that I was going to spend the night at Jace’s house, which is what I did. I knew that Michael would have probably said no, which is why I asked Caroline, but I’ll let him lecture me today when I get home because it was totally worth it. “You brushed your teeth before I woke up?”
I nod. “Yes, you slept late and my breath stunk.” Which is true and I don’t want to kiss Jace with stinky breath because that’s just really embarrassing.
“You’re kinda weird.” He informs me, wrapping an arm around my waist before pulling me over so that I was straddling his waist. I let out a stream of high pitched giggles as he did so and then rested my hands on his bare shoulders, looking into his dark brown eyes. Jace is very, very shirtless right now and the only thing that he’s wearing are his boxers under the comforter. I had stolen his shirt last night, which is the only thing that I’m currently wearing other than my pair of lacy panties.
“So I’ve heard.” I sigh, grateful that I had also brushed my hair this morning too, before Jace woke up. “By the way, your dad and Heather got back this morning, I heard them downstairs a little bit ago.”
Jace frowns in confusion. “I didn’t know they were coming back today.”
“Well, they’ve been gone for a while so it’s about time they come back, aren’t you happy to see your dad?”
He shrugs. “I guess. We can go say hi later.”
I nod and lean down, kissing Jace softly on the tip of his cute nose. “Sure, whatever you want.”
Jace grins and then sits up just enough to place a kiss on my lips and then he lays down again, burying the back of his bedhead in the pillows. “I love you.” He states randomly.
I blush and then giggle because I just love hearing that word so much coming from Jace Parker. “I love you too.”
“Speaking of that,” He sighs, placing one of his hands on my bare thigh while his thumb started tracing small circles on my skin there. It kind of tickles, but I just ignore it because it also feels kinda good. “Does your brother know about us?”
I give him a strange look. “What do you mean? You had dinner with him a few weeks ago, he obviously knows about us.”
“No, I know.” Jace mutters. “But I mean like, does he know about this?” He explains, motioning his hand between me and him.
“Oh,” I draw out, finally understanding that he’s asking me if Michael knows that we’re like, having sex. When I get to this realization, I blush and shrug. “I obviously haven’t just come out and told him but I’m sure he’s figured it out, considering I’ve spent the night over here quite a few times now.”
“So he knows?”
I shrug again with a small laugh. “I don’t know, Jace. Why?”
“Because I just don’t want him to be mad.” He justifies.
“You’re still afraid of my brother?” I ask.
Jace shakes his head. “Kind of, but that’s not why. I just really don’t want to have to stop.”
