"Emilie get up!" I hear Nate call and I sit up slowly. My body painfully protests, but I need to eat. I look over to my clock except it isn't dinner time, it's breakfast time. I slept for like 16 hours and noone even thought to chech if I wasn't dead. I shake my head in disbelief, which I immdiately regret, since my mecj is so stiff it barely moves without it hurting. I slowly make my way downstairs, hoping Gem and Nate don't notice how I can barely walk without pain shooting up my legs.

"Good morning," Gem sings from the stove, where she is cooking pancakes.

"Morning. Oh hey, uh I don't need a ride today, I'm getting a ride from Tessa." She just smiles as she sets a plate of pancakes down in front of me.

"How was school yesterday? I bet it was tiring since the first thing you did was sleep when you got home," I don't want to be mean to my sister, she's the only blood relative I have left. That and she has taken care of me this whole time, well tried to anyways. I stayed with Alex and Maddy when her and Nate had to go to school, but still.

"Ya, lots of talking and listening," I comment just to sastisfy her as I reach over for the syrup.

"Well I hope you have fun today Em," She touches my hair absently, while she hums a lullaby that seems vaguely familar. And I realize with a sense of relief that I didn't have the nightmare. I slept through the whole night with out so much as a single dream!

"Gemini," I push her hands away softly, knowing I need to tell her about yesterday.

     "Yes, what is it?"

"I- I, well... I'm sure school today will be fun." I say because I'm to much of a wimp to tell her. I quickly finish my breakfast and go to my room to get ready.

"What do you mean late?!" I pace angrily across the sidewalk, fuming about Adam's absence.

"Late as in I'm not gonna be there for another two minutes," He says into the phone, start to walk in the direction of my school. It's only a few blocks and if I start walking now, I'll only be a few minutes late.

"Whatever, I can walk." I hang up on him even though he tells me he'll be here in one minute. I'm totally fine with just training in 4th period. Besides, walking will hopefully loosen up my incredibly stiff, sore legs.

I think back to this morning, trying to place that song Gemini was humming. I know I've heard it before, but I don't no where. I get lost in my little reverie so when I hear a car horn honk loudly, I must jump like 5 feet in the air.

"Get in!" Adam calls cheerfully, pretending he was never late. But I just ignore him and keep walking.I hear his car door slam and before I have time to run, his huge arms are around my waist.

"HELP! He's trying to kidnap me!" I scream at the top of my lungs, just for my own amusement.

"Emilie- shh! Are you trying to get me arrested?" He whispers harshly as he drags me to his car, Costa issued no doubt. You can always tell if it's a company car by the color, they are always black with a little purple Costa emblem on the right side of the back window. It's tiny and really hard to see but I've seen tons of them.

"I don't know Adam, am I?" I ask him playfully as he opens the passenger door and pushes me in.

"Jeez you are so stubborn, can't you ever just cooperate?" I know it's a rhetorical question but the defensive side of me has to complain.

"I am not stubborn!" I cross my arms and mumble something about how his car is wasting so much fuel when my school is walking distance. I'm still mad about how I always seemed to be treated unfairly when we come to the main entrance of my school.
