Run Away

Jess came to the school the second I closed my eyes to take a nap. I don't know where I was gonna take a nap, on the floor? No, it's covered in mud from the rain. I sighed when she pulled up, she rolled down the window. "Hey Sar." She said sleepily. "I'm sorry Jess." I tried to apologize.

"No, it's fine" She interupted me.

"I know how awful your parents are, Sarah. I'be been to your house several times before." I hopped into the passenger seat of her car and slammed the door shut. "I'm so lucky to have you as a friend, Jess." She smiled at me. "Oh, you don't need to buckle." I looked up at her with confusion. "Jess, there's cops everywhere around here." She didn't pay attention to me and just oulled out into the main road. "We're not going back to my house, Sarah."
"Huh?" Silence. She finally sighed, but didn't look at me. "My dad told me you were a bad influence and he didn't want us hanging out anymore." She pulled into the driveway of an old-looking olive green house.

"We're gonna have to stay at my sister's." I didn't know Jesse's sister very well, but I did know that she was a really nice person with a great personality.

"Cool." I said with the minor amount of enthusiasm. We walked up the patio and up to the front door. It started raining again.
"Brooke!" Jess called without knocking once.

A tall girl with long black hair and light blue extensions opened the door. She was wearing an Avenged Sevenfold shirt with grey sweatpants and no shoes.

"Hey Jess, and hey Jess's friend?" She welcomed us in.

"Brooke, we need to stay here for a few days. Sarah's dad kicked her out and dad says I can't hang with her." The Girl layed back and sighed.

"I remember when I went through this." She laughed slightly and sat back up.

"You can pend the night for a few days, but my boyfriend is coming over on Sunday."

Sunday was in three days. I got to stay with Jesse's sister for three days, away from my parents. This has happened before, but they always came out looking for my by midnight.

"It's getting late," said Jess's sister. "There's some pizza in the fridge." She yawned and stretched, walking to her bedroom. Neither me or Jess said anything.  I grabbed a pillow and hugged it, trying to hold back tears. Jess came over and sat next to me.

"I'm sorry about your asshole dad, Sarah." She said to me with a sigh.

"Parents like yours hold us back from what we should be doing." She stood up, walked over to the fridge and pulled out the last three pieces of pizza, getting me two and her one. We ate and watched Supernatural for a couple of hours until my phone started buzzing. The caller ID said Gerard..

"Hey, Gee." I said without any enthusiasm.

"Aye Sarah!" He practically yelled.

"Is that Gerard?" Asked Jess. I nodded my head.

"Sarah who's that in the background?" He asked.

"Oh, nobody. The TV's just on." Gerard sighed.

"Sorry about what happened earlier, Sarah. I can get a little too carried away with idiots like Claire."

"I... Idiots?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, turns out she was just a liar. She had told me her dad works for KG9 Broadcasting company. Looked him up and he's just a dumb fucking exterminator." He laughed and I heard a soft thump, like he threw the phone on his bed.

"Sarah it's like 3 am and we have school tomorrow." Jess said a little too loudly in the background.

"Sarah, I thought you said you turned off the TV? What are you hiding from me?" He asked worryingly. I sighed deeply. Gerard, it's a long story and i'm exhausted.

"I've got time" he said softly. "Whatever.."

I told him everything that happened. My dad locking me out of the house, Jess picking me up and taking me to her sister's house.

"I'm sorry about your dad, Sarah. I get how parents can be." I sighed.

"Yeah, it's whatever, anyways I gotta go to bed."

"Ok, he said. Love you"

I nearly dropped my phone

"I... I.. B.. Bye..."

I fell back onto the sofa. Gerard way, the boy I had loves for who knows how long has just told me that he LOVES ME! I had a horrible night sleep that night, just thinking about Gerard.
