(lol patd reference)
I sat up on Jesse's sofa, hugging my legs. I didn't want to go to school today, I never did. Jess sighed as she held her phone up to her face. "Please text me back!" She begged under her breath.
"Josh still won't text you?" I asked softy, without turning to face her.
"He's not usually like this! He knows how much I hate it when people do this!" She whisper yelled. I didn't say anything back. Just fell onto my back and stared up at the white-painted ceiling. There was complete silence for a few minutes until Jess stood up, walked into the small kitchen and began making coffee.
"I'm surprised your dad hasn't called you yet." She said with a deep sigh. I didn't say anything back. Jess turned to me with a blank expression.
"You don't have to go to school today, Sarah. Not if you don't want to." I looked up at her.
"Won't your sister make me?" Jess slowly shook her head. My sister's pretty cool with it. She gets how awful parents can be, eve-" She got cut off when the phone started ringing. She looked at me with fear and I looked back. She picked up the phone and rolled her eyes. "Who is it" I mouthed without sound. She didn't answer me, just said, "Yep," and "Okay," to whoever was on the other end.
"It's just my dad checking up on me." She complained. I sighed a deep sigh of relief. Jess hopped on the sofa, next to me.
"I'm not going to school, and i'm not letting you go either." I smiled. "Thanks, Jess." We talked about other random stuff for the next half hour until we finally decided to eat something. Neither of us were really breakfast people, so Jess got up and started making us espressos.
"So what's going on between Gerard and you?" I looked up and her. She had a goofy expression on her face. I smirked.
"Nothing," I finally said without enthusiasm. "Oh come on," She rolled her eyes at me.
"There must be something going on between you too." I smirked again.
"I wish, I finally said softly." We both laughed and I picked up my phone when it started to buz. Jess was the first one to see the caller ID. "Speak of the devil," she said with a smirk. I grabbed the phone from her hands.
"Hey Gee."
"Sarah, I need your help."
"What?"
"Bandit was just hit by a car." I cupped my mouth in horror as I listened.
"Gerard, i'm so sorry I didn-" He cut me off.
"It's okay, I just wanted to know if you were coming to her funeral." I nodded my head but realized he couldn't see me.
"Yes, yes of course i'll come." He sniffled like he was about to cry, said good bye and hung up.
I knew how much Gerard's dog meant to him, she was like his baby, and he was the first person to get to hold her. I told Jess what Gee told me about his dog.
"That's awful! When's the funeral?"
