Chapter 8: Brent's Point Of View

Run. That was the only thought in my head. If I didn't take those two pups soon ,then Sollen and her siblings will all be gone. And I'm to blame. I know, I know. I shouldn't be so hard on myself, but how would you act in my case? Just the same.

OK so I'm trying to get to the "tree" that they talked about but the scent is getting more foggy as a go along. MAN! I wish I could know that she was a dog and she has family that is dogs! I wouldn't have to worry as much! Now I'm running to some tree that is my only hope to save three little pups! But its not her fault. She didn't know that she had a possible chance to die, no. Of coarse not. Right?

Here it is. I can see it is way taller then any other tree I've seen, but its only an oak, huh. Anyways, there was no scent of the father or Sollen. Her father must have some way to cover his scent unless he's a Calico. For the wolf world Calicos are like spy's. From other packs. They find a special berry that is scentless and cover themselves in it. It stays on for a long time but no grantee how long it lasts.

But I do see something not far from the tree. Cameron. Why is he here? Wasn't he suppose to leave a long time ago? Well he's here and he's heading somewhere I bet its the den they're staying at. I HAVE to follow him so what do you think I did? I followed him. Yea pretty creepy following someone but this was for a good cause. Yea.

He's been walking for hours. He occasionally got mad and attacked an innocent tree. Poor tree. Anyways I found myself standing up to a familiar scent. Alpha. I bowed in respect but realised that no one saw me, well. Not yet anyways. I crouched down again hoping they didn't catch my scent. They started to talk.

"Alpha" he whispered as he bowed his head, Alpha just nodded

"Were is she." It was not a question, more of a command

"The 'savers'" Is that what they call us? Huh. Who know! But he held fear in his voice. Alpha growled and Cameron lowered his body to show that he surrenders. Also showing that he means no harm.

"I Told You To Keep Her Safe" He popped all the beginning letters of each word.

"I know sir but-" He was cut off

"NO BUTT'S! This is a serious matter!" There was an awkward silence, it was interrupted by the Alpha,

"Man Cameron! You really thought I was joking when I said no puppies did you?!?!" Anger filled his voice. And Cameron only looked down with his eyes but made sure his head hold high but slightly below Alpha's head. Then Alpha paced. He was probably thinking of what to do with him.

Soon I found him coming my way, but he didn't see me. But of course I HAD to ruin it, I yelped and before I knew it I was running at high speeds with Alpha and Cameron hot on my tail. I'm doomed!
