My mother has been sleeping in her winter den for the past few days because of me....well, and my siblings, but also because of me. We were just about to be born, even though it was the middle of the summer, my mom (Gloria) decided to stay in the winter den because it was more cozy, away from humans, close to small animals, and best of all, away from the pack. Even though my mom is a dog, she lives in a pack called the "Forevers", which is a wolf pack, they let her in because she was strong and could take care of any pack members if they have wounds she wanted to get away from the pack because (even though they let her in) they disagree with her have any puppies, for she was going to be the only dog in the pack. She soon found a mate (which was easy because she was a beautiful dog, an all white Huskey) and we are her second litter of puppies, yes, she decided to break the rule of "no puppies" but she was just going to keep them until they were old enough to go out to the world, and was prepared too. Dad (Cameron) left to get a meal for Mom because she haven't ate anything in the past week (in dog years) when the best thing in the world that could've happened, happened. Gloria gave birth!!!! She gave birth to a litter of five puppies. Two were silver like my dad, two was a normal Huskey kind of color (black and white), the other looked just like her mom, me. I wasn't the runt of the litter, in fact I was the biggest, and strongest of the group of these winning puppies (even though two are wolves). We all looked fine. We had no extra or less limbs, or any deformed limbs, we were perfect, but mom forgot one thing. Their hearing and seeing. As puppies our eyes and ears cant open until a few weeks (dog years) meaning she can't ever know of we can't hear or see, which, in her last litter, haft of the six puppies she gave birth to was blind, and one was deaf. She thought it was a one time thing, for she didn't know that Huskeys (mainly white Huskeys) have a great chance of being blind or deaf, for herself is partially deaf , she was born that way, but she always thought that it was normal so she paid no attention to it. I lived my life like any other dog or wolf would, I would nurse, then roll all over my siblings, then sleep, if I couldn't sleep I would listen to the sound of dad's breathing. I always liked dad and I could tell that he and mom likes me the most to. One day dad took me outside, my eyes and ears haven't opened just yet, but as a pup your nose is always opened, and as his favorite, he took me out to smell the beautiful, and glorious nature, and to feel the fresh air, for which a rain storm just passed. Then it happened.. As I smelled the air I felt something inside that made me tingle, suddenly, POP. I heard a large noise, I yelped at this but mom and dad just looked at me funny. But I knew what happened, my ears opened, but I was to young for that to happen and all the pressure went up through my ears and giving that large noise, but what I didn't know is that I will never be able to hear ever again. I spent the next week just snuggling with my brothers and sisters and enjoying being a pup. I could feel it was nearing the end of summer because dad was going out more to get food, and it was more cold then usual. I was also the first one to open my eyes, then my sister, Petal, then Joey and it just went on.
