“Sweet I get a vacation and get to see Dexter. This is going to be awesome,” she said cheerfully and I couldn’t help but laugh. I couldn’t deny that I was more than excited to see Ian again but I was also frightened because I would get to meet his pack members.

“We’re here!” Karley squealed and I cringed. I stared out the car window and watched as the huge house began to rise up in front of us and my eyes widened. The house was more than huge. It was gigantic. Who knew werewolves could afford such a house.

The driver pulled up to the front step and both Karley and I stepped out and gapped at the house. All around us people were running around. A group of teenagers were sitting in the grass talking and laughing. Another group stood by a bunch of sports cars. I spotted cadence walking with two younger kids and I knew she was training them or showing them around. I heard a distant howl and cringed at the thought of how Karley was going to react. I shifted my gaze to her and stared at her.

Her eyes were wide and her mouth hung open. She stared at all the people and gapped. “Uh destiny I think these guys are part of the mob,” she whispered and I almost broke out into a laugh but I held back.

“No not the mob but close,” Dexter said from beside us and we both turned to see him walking out of the trees with Ian right behind him. Ian smiled at me but didn’t say anything.

“Then what are you?” Karley asked and narrowed her eyes. Both Ian and I turned to look at Dexter and he sighed.

“Why don’t you come with me and I will show you,” he said and held his hand out. She hesitated but took his hand and followed him back into the trees.

“Ten bucks says she tries to hit him over the head with a log,” Ian said as he watched the two disappear.

“My bets on she comes screaming to me and tells me we have to go home because you people are crazy,” I said and he smiled at me.

“You’re on. And I’m sorry again for not calling,” he said and I shrugged my shoulders.

“No big deal,” I lied and he just eyed me before he nodded.

“Come on let me show you the house,” he said and grabbed my hand.

If I thought the house was big on the outside I was crazy because it seemed even bigger on the inside.

“So what do you think?” Ian asked as we walked into the kitchen. He walked to the fridge and I sat down on one of the bar stools and eyed him.

“It’s nice but I’m wondering how you guys can afford this,” I said and he smirked at me.
