XXIII - Nagisa's Secret

NATSUMI'S ROOM

"I just hope she picks up the call," said Natsumi to herself as she tried calling Nagisa.

"Hello," said a voice from the other side of the phone.

"Ummm H...Hello Nagisa," said Natsumi nervously.

"Oh just hold on, I'll give the phone to her," said the voice.

"Hello," said Nagisa from the other side.

"Nagisa," said Natsumi with joy in her voice.

"Ummm... may I know who is this?" As she couldn't recognize Natsumi's voice.

"It's me... Natsumi," said Natsumi with happiness.

"Natsumi, is that really you?" asked Nagisa.

"Yes and I am so happy to hear from you," said Natsumi as tears of joy appeared in her eyes.

"You called after so long. It's almost like you forgot me," said Nagisa.

"I would never," replied Natsumi.

"Is everything okay? You sound so down," asked Nagisa.

"No, nothing is okay," said Natsumi with a sad expression.

"What's wrong?" Asked Nagisa with concern in her voice.

"Before I tell you that, who was the person who picked up the call just now?" Asked Natsumi.

"Oh his name is Kirito, my fiancé," said Nagisa with a blush.

AMAYA"S ROOM

"FIANCE!!!" Said everyone in shock.

"Shhh," said Natsumi as she kept her finger on her lips.

"Oh sorry," said everyone.

"S...She is getting married," said Amaya in shock.

"I'm afraid yes," said Natsumi looking down.

"But you said that she would never leave Naoki," said Subaru.

"That's true because I could hear it in her voice," said Natsumi as she began to tell everyone what happened on the phone.

FLASHBACK

"Wait, what? You're getting married?" Said Natsumi in shock.

"Yeah," said Nagisa with happiness.

"B...But what about Naoki?" Asked Natsumi.

"Huh? Isn't he already married?" Asked Nagisa surprised.

"No, I mean almost. Yui needed a bit time before the wedding," said Natsumi.

"Yui huh? So when is the wedding?" Asked Nagisa.

"The engagement is this Friday but the wedding is not final yet," said Natsumi.

"I see. That's great," said Nagisa trying to be happy.

"That isn't," said Natsumi.

"Huh? Why?" Asked Nagisa.

"You know Naoki can't marry anyone other than you," said Natsumi trying to reason with Nagisa.

"But he told me to forget about him," said Nagisa.

"Yes, but do you think he has forgotten you?" Asked Natsumi.

"I...I don't know, but I have planned to move on," said Nagisa tossing the topic.

"Nagisa please, I need your help," said Natsumi.

"Help?" Said Nagisa confused.

"Naoki is not happy with the wedding and neither is Yui. I can hear it in your voice that you don't want to get married to anyone else than Naoki. Then why are you doing this?" Asked Natsumi.

"Because Naoki is getting married to someone else and that it the truth," said Nagisa with teary eyes.

"Yes, but I have a way to fix things," said Natsumi.

Natsumi told Nagisa the full plan and after thinking for a long time Nagisa finally agreed to help.

END OF FLASHBACK

"So what's the problem? Nagisa is going to help us right?" Asked Amaya confused.

"Yes but I don't think that she will be able to stop the wedding," said Natsumi.

"Then what's the point," said Ayato rolling his eyes.

"The point is that even if she can't stop it she just might be able to delay it," said Yui with a smile.

NEXT MORNING

YUI'S ROOM

"Yui, as you know the engagement is tomorrow," said Seiji as he entered Yui room.

"Yes, father," said Yui as the good morning wasn't good anymore.

"I want you to go shopping this afternoon and buy everything necessary," said Seiji.

"Alright, father," said Yui.

"I will be leaving now," said Seiji as he approached the door.

"Yes, father," said Yui in a low tone.

Seiji left the room leaving Yui to herself. Yui thought for a while and then sat on her bed thinking.

"What if... I run away with Ayato?" Said Yui.
