Intent. As in the action
As in, "Oh, I meant to do that
Different from motive
As in why I did what I did
People focus a lot on being motivated
And that's not bad
It's important to have reasons
As long as they mean something bigger than you
But what about being intentional?
See, "intentional" takes things a step further
Literally. You're acting on the momentum
You can push the car pedal all you want
But I'd like to see you put that ignition in drive
Yes, I understand you need drive
But you also need to drive
Be intentional: proactive
That's more than just "active"
It's finally doing what you said you would
Insert dreams and aspirations here
Intent is the revolution behind New Year's Resolution
Now, pardon me if I'm unintentionally talking to your life
But I'm about to go even further
Let's talk about God for a minute
Let's talk about you and God for a minute
How's that going?
Did you ever make that transition from
Him being your parents' God to yours?
From complacent to proactive?
From lethargic to, that's right, intentional?
I realize as a church we do a lot of motivating
But it's all for naught
Until you go from potential energy to kinetic energy
From potential surrender to kinetic surrender
From potential worship to kinetic worship
And by worship, I mean the lifestyle
Be intentional
When God said to wait on Him
He didn't mean idly
He means to prepare for the blessing
Make room
Take out some things that have no business being there
Ask God the questions you're scared to ask
Go on; there's a difference between being disrespectful and inquisitive
Ask God what more does He do for you
Than give you breath and the basic necessities
Realize that He helps you to do more than survive
Realize that He helps you thrive
Realize that He spills into every area of your life
Realize that this is why He needs to be no. 1 in your life
And for God's sake, and yours
Be intentional.
