She stopped going to school. Dahil sobra na siyang nanghihina. There was a time na hinimatay na lang siya bigla habang naglalakad kami. Matigas ang ulo niya kaya ilang araw lang siyang nagpa-confine nun sa ospital. Pero tuloy parin ang medications niya.
Kahit hindi niya sabihin, alam kong nahihirapan na siya. Ako rin naman, pero ayaw kong ipakita yun sa kanya. I don’t want her to feel na isa siyang pabigat sakin. Dahil mahal ko siya.
“What are you thinking?” she asked habang nakapikit ang mga mata niya…
At ngayon ay nakahiga siya sa higaan niya, nagpapahinga. At ako naman naka-upo sa tabi ng higaan niya… Minsan nga ayoko ng pumasok dahil gusto kong bantayan lang siya. Hangga’t maaari gusto kong bantayan ang bawat pag-hinga niya…
“Hmm… I’m thinking of a song na ikakanta ko sayo ngayon…” I said while playing her right hand.
“Okay,” She said, still her eyes shut.
I started singing ‘A Twist in My Story’ by Secondhand Serenade… While intently looking at her… Her reddish kissable lips turned pale, she really looks sick. I held her hand so tight, not wanting to let go. But I make it sure that she won’t have a bruise. She’s so fragile…
“So you see, this world doesn't matter to me
I'll give up all I have just to breathe
The same air as you till the day that I die
I can't take my eyes off of you” As I sang the last stanza, my tears are starting to escape from my eyes again…
