I exited the black car, and before I could shut the door, the car sped off. The speed of it shut the door on its own.

I had a flip phone now, an address, and a phone number. Ok, 9:20, I have a little less then 11 hours to go. I followed the address until I came upon a two story, white and green house. I hopped over the fence in the back, dropping down into some conveniently placed bushes. I poked my head above the bushes, trying to find anyway in. A few people were entering and exiting the house, but none of them were the woman I was waiting for. I saw the little girl running around the yard, but she never saw me. My purple hair couldn't give me away, since it's hidden of course. The only thing that could ruin me is someone getting too close to me.

I could see a big van in the front of the house, where people were taking furniture and such out of the back. They must of just moved in. Ok good, they may not be using some closets, and I can hide in one until she collapses. Now I just have to get in.

I waited several minutes, getting kinda bored sitting here, until finally I saw the woman. She walked outside, her child running up to her. She walked out onto the curb, the girl following her. She shut the gate behind her, and to my luck, she won't be able to see me when I run behind it. I dashed out of the bushes, running to the front of the house, and shoving open the front door.

"Did anyone else hear that?" I heard someone ask from outside. My heart stopped as I ran upstairs and looked around. I found a door with wooden blinds on it, and when I opened it, I found it chalked full of boxes. I got in, shutting the door behind me, and moving the boxes so I could hide behind them.

"No, I could of swore I heard someone running up the stairs." It was the woman, she seemed stressed.

"I am not sure what to tell you, Ma'am, it's an old house, maybe it is haunted." A man said. Probably one of the workers unloading the van.

"There is no such thing as ghosts." The woman replied. "And don't say that stuff around Charlie, she may become scared of the house otherwise."

"I'm sorry." Was the last thing I heard as I listened to the footsteps descending the stairs. I sat down on the floor behind the boxes, breathing a sigh of relief. It was hardly a minute later when the closet door opened again. I drew in a sharp inhale, expecting the worse, but all there was, was a person trying to push the boxes further back. They couldn't of course, because I was in the way.

"This one is full!" They yelled, shutting the closet door. I exhaled in fear, my heart racing and my hands shaking.

"I have to deal with this for 10 more hours? I am going to have a heart attack before the time comes." I whispered to myself. I pulled out the disposable flip phone I received while in the car, and dialed the number of the Nevada county jail.

"Hello?" An assumed secretary answered. I took a deep breath, trying to make sure my voice didn't shake when I spoke.

"Is Lilly Sanders available for a quick call?" I asked, hoping they would retrieve my sister from her jail cell, so I could apologize for one last time.

"You will have 2 minutes, it is almost time to lock up for the afternoon. We will connect you momentarily." I waited in silence, no one from outside making any sudden sounds.

"What is it." I suddenly heard the displeased voice of my older sister.

"Shouldn't you know who is on the line before you ask such rude questions?" I whispered.

"Lucy?" Lilly hissed. I nodded my head, realizing she couldn't see that.

"Uh... yeah." I said in guilt. I should avoid of talking to her, since she and the rest of my family hates me for what I did, but I need to ask a question.

"What do you want." She asked, sounding as though she gave up on being mad at me.

"Huh, so get this! I won the lottery, and was wondering if I could pay you back by adopting Sarah and giving her the best life imaginable." I said, lying through my teeth. Sarah was my niece, and when Lilly went to jail, my mother took her, but I really wanted to adopt her.

Lilly gasped in surprised, before it was silent for a second. "I... I don't know what to say... you know mom won't give her up, but she can't tell me to do with her when she is my daughter... I'm not forgiving you for what you did, but I want what is best for Sarah." Lilly spoke, seeming to fight a bit with herself if she should trust me or not. I didn't speak, hoping she would come to a conclusion on her own. "You know what? No, I will not let you have her, you're a filthy, dirty liar, and have done nothing to our family but betray us!" Well, that wasn't the conclusion I was hoping for.

"Lilly, you don't understand, something really bad is going to happen, and I don't want Sarah to get hurt, so she is safer with me!" I said raising my voice, but shutting my mouth immediately when I heard someone walking up the stairs again.

"No one is safe with you, Lucy, haven't you figured that out yet?"

"I'm so sorry." Was the only thing I could say before the line went dead. That two minutes went quick.

I shut my phone. I know whoever I called, the woman could hear the conversation, but, I'm going to call as many people as I want to kill time.

I listened for people on the second floor, but there were none. I dialed the number of an old friend, hoping they wouldn't be mad I haven't called for a year or two. The phone rang in my ear for a minute before I got a voice mail. It told me to wait for the beep, so I did.

The beep rang in my ear, and I began my final good bye. "Hey, it's Lucy. I know it's been a year and some odd months but... I just wanted to say that you are my best friend and will be until the day you die- I die! Until the day I die, not you... haha." I was nervously laughing and freaking out. Sure, I'm not actually talking to anyone, but goodbyes were never my thing. "But umm, if you want to meet up, I am in Colorado. I know it's a long drive but, I might be here a day or two... Ok, well bye." I said, hanging up and closing the flip phone. I can't keep using it, someone may hear me and I won't even know they are there.

I looked at the clock. 10:22 A.m. I still have some time to kill. I should probably take a nap or something. It's been a while since I slept. 3 p.m. yesterday? Yeah it's been about 19 hours. Something similar to that anyway. When I closed my eyes, it was still 10:22 in the morning, but a second later, when I opened them, it was 4 in the afternoon.

"How the hell did I sleep so long? That didn't even feel like a second of sleep.." I said, disappointed in how lousy my sleep was. I sat up a small amount with tired eyes. I looked down and saw I had 2 missed class on the flip phones, and two voicemails. When I flipped open the phone, I opened one voicemail. The first was from the woman, she called at 12 this afternoon.

"Your patient is leaving their house, just stay put, they should be back soon enough." The woman said.

The second voicemail was the woman again, she called a few minutes ago.

"Your patient has returned home with their spouse, be careful, they are unpacking boxes, moving around more." It was silent again. I tucked the phone away in my backpack and waited. Only a few more hours, and then I am done. When it is about 8, I am leaving this closet and just going to walk up to her and wait. I don't even care if she calls the cops, it's too late for her by then. What about her family? What are they going to do? Probably attack me but...

Now I just wait, hopefully they won't take boxes out of this closet just yet, and if they do, I just need to stay quiet.
