Chapter 13 - The Mysterious DVD

I had a pretty tough day today, As usual. Mrs. Cooper gave us a surprise quiz. I didn’t really do well on that quiz but at least I passed. Though, I wasn’t satisfied with the results. I got a C+ which is not a failing grade or a barely passing grade but I was still upset.

“Tiffany, someone’s looking for you,” my classmate told me.

My palm is partially concealing my face that time due to exasperation.  When I heard my classmate, I lifted my head up.

“Who is it?” I asked.

She just pointed on the direction of our door and there I saw James. I suddenly remember that Dennis and I are supposed to visit his place. I stood right away and picked up my things.

 "See you tomorrow, Tiffany" My classmate told me.

"Yes, see you tomorrow" I said in reply and smiled.

I made my way to James. I didn't see Dennis around. I wonder where could he be?

“Where’s Dennis?” I asked James.

“He said he needs to arrange something, he asked me to pick you up. He told me that he’s going to meet you at my place” James informed me.

“Is that so?” I was a bit confused.

“Yep” he shortly replied “Shall we go?”

“Sure”

“Let me help you with that.” James offered.

I was carrying a couple of books and my hand bag. I handed him my books. James can sometimes be eerie but he’s a true gentleman. Yes believe it or not. We walked towards the parking lot and I saw his Ducati Hypermotard big bike parked.

“Wow!” I told him excitingly. I’ve never been able to ride on his big bike before. I’ve always dreamed of being able to ride on his motorcycle.

“Are you really going to let me ride with you?” I asked him. He loves his motorcycle more than his car. James is really into big bikes.

“I have no choice” he told me and smirked.

“Oh my! Thank you so much!” I hurriedly ran towards it. I run my fingers on his bike trying to feel it.

“Enough with that” James giggled. "Here wear this" He said handing me his helmet.

"Thank you" I said as I put the helmet on.

He climbed on the bike first.

“Come on” He offered me his hand. I grabbed it and climbed up.

Good thing, I’m not wearing skirt today. I’m wearing a jeans and a black suede boots matched with a white tank top and a beige leather jacket.

James started the engine. The sound of the machine is so strong. You can definitely say that it’s in a good condition.

“Ready?” he asked

“Let’s get it on” I wrapped my arms around James waist and off we go!

We’re moving so fast. It feels so great! I can definitely feel the air brushing my hair. I really like this feeling. We’re moving too fast but I can’t resist it. I removed my arms across James and raised it up. I raised it so high.

 “Tiffany, you might fall!” James screamed.

When I heard James, I suddenly remembered Matthew. He used to reprimand me like that. I wrapped my arms again on James’ waist.

“I’m sorry” I said.

“Don’t do it again. Dennis will kill me if something happens to you.” He’s serious right now.

“Fine” I told him

After a few minutes, we reached James’ house. I saw Dennis’ car parked outside but he isn’t there. James parked his bike inside the garage.

“Is Dennis here?” James asked one of their helpers.

“He left a few minutes ago. He said he’s going to be right back” The helper replied.

“Okay, thanks. Kindly prepare some snacks for my visitors.” James said.

“Right away, sir”

James and I went to the living room. Their helper maid some lemonade and cupcakes, we ate it while waiting for Dennis.

While waiting, I heard someone honked outside their house. James and I peeped on the window and saw his father’s car.

“Oh great, Tiff. Stay here. I’m going out and grab some DVDs for us to watch.” James said.

“Sure” I told him.

James made his way out. I saw his dad climbed out of the car. His dad is still wearing his white coat, the ones that the doctors wear in the hospital. James climbed in his father’s car and drove out.

“Oh, I didn’t know we have a visitor” James’ father said when he saw me.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Monroe.” I greeted him with a smile.

“Have a sit” He offered. “Just wait for James. He told me that he’s just going to buy some DVDs. It’s not that far from here.”

“I understand Mr. Monroe. Thank you.”

He smiled back and went away. James’ father looks tired. There must be a lot of emergency at the hospital awhile ago.

I already finished two pieces of cupcakes when James returned. It only took him a few minutes to get back.

“Hey, Tiff. Dennis isn’t here yet?” He asked me.

“He hasn’t arrived yet” I told him and sipped some lemonade.

“Is that so?” He raised one of his eyebrows. “Here” he handed me a couple of DVDs

“What do you want to watch?” he asked me.

He bought some DVDs. Mostly are actions and science fiction. While scanning the DVDs. I noticed a blank CD. There is no title or anything, just a plain black case.

“James, what’s this?” I asked him, showing him the blank CD.

“I don’t know, let’s check it out.”

I handed him the CD. He immediately grabbed it from my hand. I got curious suddenly. I don’t know why but I felt something strange. I set the other DVDs aside. James started preparing the component. They have a pretty wide screen. James placed the CD inside.

Then it started playing.

TA-DA! :) The ending of this chapter is some kind of a cliff-hanger. :)
