“It’s not funny Gaius,” I said loudly to him.
“It is a little. Not one girl likes you and then when you figure out your gay a girl comes on to you,” laughed Gaius.
“Gaius.....I like girls still you know and she isn’t the only one who did. I just when it came down to Arthur and Gwaine, I love them. Now that I am married to the prince, this is the last thing I need.”
“I must agree but you are just going to have to keep her away from you. Arthur forgave you about Gwaine but if he finds out about Karen....he may not forgive you and you still have a destiny upon your shoulders, Merlin,” said Gaius.
“Having a destiny and being married isn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I thought being with Arthur now, that my destiny would just slot into place,” I said to him.
“It is never as easy as that. If your relationship with Arthur doesn’t work.....it is likely your destiny will be destroyed too.”
“Thank you for that Gaius.”
“I am just telling you the truth. If you don’t want this relationship ruined and your destiny you are going to have to keep Karen away from you or tell Arthur the truth,” said Gaius as he got up from his sit and went over to some supplies be began to put into his bag,.
The truth, that hasn’t been my strong point with Arthur since the day I stepped foot in Camelot and still now I considered lying to Arthur again. I could give it ago and if Karen continues, I’m going to have to tell him.
A knock came at the chamber door and Gaius looked over at me with confusion. It was most likely Karen because Arthur never knocked, oh great. I got up from my sit leaving my half eaten breakfast on the table and walked over to the door and pulled it open.
“Good morning Merlin,” smiled Karen. I gulped but she didn’t really notice or less she just ignored it.
“Morning Karen, am I late?” I asked her.
“Oh no not at all, I came to fetch you as I am having breakfast with the king today, including Arthur,” she smiled. I hid my happiness about hearing Arthur’s name and I just smiled.
“Ok then I’m ready, so let’s go,” I said softly as I joined her outside the chamber closing the door behind me.

“Never found someone yet?” asked Uther.
“No I haven’t but I think I may have,” smiled Karen in my direction. I gulped and poured the water into Arthur’s cup but it spilt everywhere.
“Oh I am sorry,” I said to him as I helped to clean it up including Arthur’s trousers and I noticed Arthur not getting angry but getting a little hormonal ....we had only made love yesterday and this was his idea.
“Are you under the weather?” asked Uther directly to me. He hardly ever spoke to me.
“Yeah I am not a hundred percentage but I’ll make sure not to do it again sire,” I said to him.
I saw the smile on Uther’s face. “Merlin is very dedicated even when he is ill. You are lucky my son allowed you to use him this week,” he laughed.
I smiled to him before I went back to my place until someone else wanted a drink. It was just a week. Nothing more and nothing less so why am I so worried. I didn’t like Karen so I just had to tell her that. However if I stood up to her she may tell Uther and that was the last thing I wanted to happen.
