Merlin: Destiny and Married (BoyXBoy Sequel to Merlin's Love Triangle)

Chapter Four: It is love.

Arthur’s POV

I was not jealous. Light is just a kid and he needs looking after. Merlin still loves me and wants me but because he has such a good heart he wants to insure the kid is healthy and safe. That is understandable....right. Then why do I feel like I am second best right now. It’s because I am.....no that’s not true!

Why do I feel like this? It is so stupid.

“Arthur....are you alright?” asked my father.

“I am fine, just tired,” I lied. I was having breakfast with my father and I felt half asleep as well as the fact that I can’t get over what had happened with Merlin not long ago.

My father had invited Karen to breakfast as well as the king and the two other visitors but Karen was the only one that had not shown up with Merlin and I was beginning to get a little concerned about that too.

I couldn’t show that to anyone in here though, no one could know about me and Merlin for now as I know my father would lock me up and sentence Merlin to death and I will not allow my father to kill my true love. If anyone dared to hurt Merlin they would know about it.

It was strange how it had worked out this way but I didn’t regret anything and in the end Merlin had choice me over Gwaine. It is clear Merlin loves me that much to do that and being jealous over a five year old boy makes me look like a complete prat  coming from the words of Merlin himself.

“I am not feeling that great, I am going to go lay down for a bit,” I said before leaving the room. I didn’t head towards my chamber, I headed towards Karen’s.

When I arrived there the last thing I expected to see was Merlin lying on the floor clearly out cold with some of his clothes off. At first I thought the worse until it darned on me that Merlin’s forehead was bleeding and there was no sign of Karen.

I kneeled down beside Merlin and put him into my arms. “What has she done to you, Merlin? You’ll be alright, you always are. You’re stronger then I am Merlin. I’ll always love you,” I said before I lifted him into arms properly before I got to my feet. I was going to take him straight to Gaius, I didn’t know what else to do right now.

I rushed out the chamber and towards Gaius’s chamber not caring who saw me carrying Merlin in this way at this particular time. I was never going to allow Merlin to be in pain too long or die because he meant too much to me and he didn’t deserve this either.

I burst into Gaius’s chamber a little while later and Gaius turned around from his work to find Merlin within my arms and I probably looked terrible. “Gaius, I found him like this. What do you think happen?” I asked him.

“I can’t be sure until I can take a better look at him. Stick him on my bed,” said Gaius said to me.

I rushed over to Gaius’s bed and placed Merlin down softly onto the bed. I stepped back to allow Gaius to examine Merlin but I was not going to move any further then I already had. Gaius managed to get close enough to Merlin and sit down on a chair he has fetched to take a better look at the cut on Merlin’s head.

“It seems to be that he was in a bit of a struggle. Merlin could have easily have got out of it with his magic however depending on who did this to him, he was probably hiding he had magic. Do you know who did this?” asked Gaius.

“I found him in Karen’s chamber like this. I forgot to grab his boots, neckerchief, his jacket and his top I was so worried. I think it may have been Karen. Ever since Karen cuddled Merlin that day in the forest saying he couldn’t breathe I knew something was odd. Will he be alright?”
