"Promise me, Nola. Please." The auburn haired girl who I had come to love and see as a sister from another mister pleaded with me.

"Your not gonna die, so don't talk like.....this." I sighed, avoiding the topic.

"Stop trying to change the topic. And I've accepted my death, avoiding it wont do me any good." She said with a stubborn undertone that told me she wasn't going to take no for an answer.

"But he's your twin for gods sake, Avery. " I said, trying to make her understand.

" I know he's gonna destroy himself. I know he's gonna be a wreck. Give him time, but bring him back to his old self. Please, Nola. This is the only thing Ive asked you. Please, do this. For me." She begged me with her puppy dog eyes and I couldn't say no.

"Ill try, but I'm not promising anything." I said. Because I couldn't,Who knew what the future brought. I wasn't about to make a promise that I wasn't most likely going to fulfill.

"No, Promise me." She said as if sensing what I was thinking.

"No Avril, I cant." I said. Because I couldn't.

"Don't call me that. No, I want you to promise me this one thing. Please. Nola. Please." Her voice quavered with emotion before she looked at me with tear stained eyes.

"Okay, I promise." I gave in and hugged her tight as tears poured from both our eyes as we sobbed together, Our bodies shaking together as we clutched onto each other for dear life.

"Ellie, Ellie. Get Up!!!!" My dads voice woke me up from yet another nightmare. I woke up with a start and noticed my face wet with tears.

I hugged the comforter closer to me as I recalled the memory one more time, sadness filling the pit of my stomach which clenched my insides.

"Coming, Dad." I called out and went to the washroom not wanting to contemplate the dream anymore.
Dressed in skinny jeans and a tank top with a hoodie wrapped around my waist, I headed downstairs, kissed dad good morning and ate cereal before deciding to walk to school.

Yelling goodbye as I closed the door, I saw Ace on his front porch. Ignoring him and blasting my music to the max, I walked to school with a smile on my face as I thought of dad.

I had only four periods today, double english and double social. Heading to the english block, I sat in the last because today was the project day, the day where the project and the partners for it were decided by the teachers. I didn't want to be stuck with anyone, If I was lucky I could work alone.

Ms.Day walked in with multiple papers piled up on her hand that made me want to barf just looking at the thick sets. After picking partners, I was the only odd one out so she let me work alone.

Everyone turned to see who was late because Ms.Day's classes were the easiest and the favorite of almost everyone.

"Why are you late Ace?" Asked Ms.Day with a strict Dont-mess-with-me tone.

"Didn't hear the Late bell ring." He shrugged.

"Oh! May I know what in the world you were doing when the bell was ringing. And no lies, mister." She said sharply.

"I was in the janitors closet with Blaze." He said as if it was no big deal.

"Doing what may I ask?" She said, even though we all knew what he was doing.

"Fulfilling my needs, Miss." He said with a cheeky grin.

"So I suppose passing this class isn't one of your needs?" She said with a disappointed face and sighed.
