Amanda is giving the cold shoulder.
"Amanda." I poked her.
What's wrong with her? Did I say something wrong? Did anyone hear what I told her at lunch?
"Whats your problem Amanda? Is it because of me? Is it because of what I said at lunch? Im sorry if someone heard it and you were embarrassed." I asked shaking her trying to get something out of her.
" What do you mean by you don't know? Your just playing innocent." She said as she shot me an ugly glare.
"Know what?" I asked her.
"Stop playing innocent." I could feel the anger in her.
"Im not." I said.
"Geez, your so stupid." She said.
"I don't care. Just tell me whats wrong." I asked, getting more and more annoyed. I wanted to leave her alone but I don't want us to have a broken relationship. Ive had one too many of that.
"You. Your whats wrong. You telling me what to do and what not to. You talking to me in school. Do you even have any friends? God, your such a freak. And whats with you and Ace? Stop talking to him. Your bringing me and him down. Don't you see that? Your the freak and Im the popular. I don't want people knowing about us. So stop.We shouldn't even be in the same place together." She spat with so much hatred that a tear slipped down my face.
Is that what she thought? That Ive embarrassed her? I was so worried about her in the morning.
Unable to talk back, I just nodded and went back to my food.
The air was thick with tension and I wanted to get away ASAP.
I got back to my room as soon as I finished eating to notice Dylan and Ace there.
On my bed.
Uh oh.
I cleared my throat breaking their glaring contest.
"Hi." Dylan waved.
I waved back as a stupid smile settled on my face.
I went and sat on my beanbag facing them.
"So why are you guys here?" I asked.
"You've been dating both of us for a while now. Its only fair on us that you choose one of us." Dylan said while Ace just looked at me with a smirk.
"Guys, I don't know." I said, looking at the ground.
"Thats not fair, Ells." Dylan said softly.
"Im sorry. I need time." I said looking him straight in the eye.
"What about you tell us tomorrow?" Ace spoke up with the smirk still plastered onto his face.
"Okay." I said.
I watched as they climbed out of my window and waved at them.
A knocking on my door cut me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah?" I said.
Amanda must heard that as a come in because she barged in and went to my window just in time to see Ace climbing up his room.
"Ace!" Amanda called out.
He turned around and gave her a wave.
"How are you?" She asked.
He gave a thumbs up.
"I forgot to give you my number." She laughed in a weird way and told him her number and gave a call me hand sign and walked out of my door.
What was with this girl?
----------------------------------------------------------
When I finally settled in bed, I was dead tired and wanted to do nothing but sleep. But my window kept making creaky noises as something hit them.
I got up and walked to it, pushing the curtains away.
"AAAHH." I screamed as I saw Aces eyes on the edge of my window.
I put a hand on my heart as I calmed it down and glared at him. What the hell was he here for anyway?
"What?" I asked, annoyed at him.
He motioned me to open the window which I did when he kept glaring at me.
"How are you?" He asked.
I couldn't believe this boy. He was here at eleven in the night to see how I was doing. What was wrong with him?
"Ill tell you that I was mighty fine until you came." I angrily said, the lack of sleep and the events of the day were catching up to me.
"No need to get all moody. I was just asking." He Said, throwing his hands up in surrender.
"Im not moody." I said, getting annoyed by his mere presence alone.
"Sure, you not." He says sarcastically while rolling his eyes.
I mentally screamed at him. He was being a jerk right now.
"Ace?" My attention snapped to the one standing next to my door, Amanda.
Ace gave her an awkward wave.
"What are you doing here, baby? Came to see me?" She asked twirling her hair and shooting him a flirty wink.
I looked at him to see him looking well, uncomfortable.
And let me tell you, Ace never got uncomfortable with the attention girls gave him.
Especially when they were wearing just a tube top and short shorts that could easily pass as underwear.
So I just stared at him, bewildered at his uncomfortability.
"Uhmm..." He began but Amanda was quicker. She put a hand on his side and squeezed him. I would call that a side hug but Ace had a pained expression which told me otherwise.
Ave looked at me begging with his eyes to save him.
I Just shot him an amused grin.
I could feel the jealousy spark up inside me but I pushed it away.
"Come on sugar, lets get away from nerds here." She said, pulling Ace to the door. But Ace refused to budge.
"Amanda, I told you. I don't like you like that. I told you,Im in love with someone else." He sighed and gave her a sad smile.
"What do you mean by in love with someone else? Who is that bitch?" Amanda all but screamed breaking my eardrums.
My curiosity peaked as I waited for him to answer. Did she go to our school? Do I know her? Is he gay? Oh god, does he like John Starr, the leader of the gay clique in Racer high?
"Noelle."
One word. One word was all it took for him to disappear as if he never came. One word was all it took for my and Amanda's relationship, or whatever we had left of it to crumble down.
But I couldn't get out of the shock it held for me.
Did the bad boy just confess his undying love for me?
