Hey hey! So I decided to cut this one up a bit because it go long. The next part will be longer, it's probably about halfway done now.

Chapter 10

Ruth punches me in the shoulder to wake me up. This is fairly typical for her, and every time I try to hit her back she moves.

"I thought we were sleeping in." I groan, rolling into my borrowed pillow.

"Yea, well your Prince Not-So-Charming is outside yelling for you."

I sit up, rubbing my head, "What?" I ask.

She yanks me off of her couch, "Yea, apparently you all are going to eat with dinner with some people."

"It's like 6:00 in the morning."

"It's 3:00 in the afternoon. Lily left for practice forever ago. You mom called, I told her you stayed up late because we watched The Ring and you couldn't sleep. She said she told you not to watch that again and you're grounded."

"Wait... it's 3:00? holy string cheese, I have to go."

"Sting cheese?"

"It's early."

"It's 3:00 in the afternoon!" she yells, throwing me my clothes in a bag. I put on my coat over the flannel pajamas I borrowed and run out the door, missing whatever Ruth yells at me.

The first thing I hear is Hal, sighing, "You had to come out in flannel, didn't you?"

"Huh?"

The next thing I hear is cameras, flashing and people yelling at me. "Did you have a good time with your friends, Katharine?" "Give us a good morning kiss!" "Stop for just one second!"

"Oh crap." I say to Hal.

He grins at me, and smoothes my hair. Or he tires. Then he pulls me to his waiting car, throws my bag in and then me. We pull away from the car before I have the chance to form a proper apology for looking like a homeless orphan.

"Did you seriously just wake up?"

"Yea." I mumble, trying to disguise the fact that I didn't have time to brush my teeth.

"I hope someone hit you with your own pillow to get you up." He mumbles.

I huff, "Ruth hit me on the head. She does it every time." I'm quiet for a minute, "Sorry about sleeping so late. I totally forgot about the dinner thing. And sorry for appearing like this. I know it's a far cry from last night."

He smiles a little, "You can make it up to me."

"You'd better not say something dirty."

"No. Please just wear this to the dinner tonight?"

"No! I can only imagine your mom's face. Well... it is tempting..."

"They would freak."

"Will you wear pajamas too?" I ask.

"Sure."

"The ones with Power Rangers on them?"

He glares at me as he parks the car in his garage. "How do you know about that? What are you like spying on me while I sleep?"

"I do your laundry."

"Right, sure, I'll wear the Power Rangers pajamas if you wear this and you have to wear those heels with it."

"Right. And you have to promise to drive me to my inevitable emergency room visit."

"You did okay last night."
