Expectations.
They're hard not to make.
Your mind
just automatically needs
something to grasp, hold, imagine,
to load up space,
fill in the blankOf a matter
unknown to you.A parachute for what's to come,
Preparing your heart
For the worst
So you won't be let down
disappointed
By the outcome.Or a reflection of yourself-
What you truly wish for,
What you want to happen,
Some sort of longing, yearning
Inside of you
Unbeknownst
perhaps even to yourself.Or
I don't know
Maybe it's neither of those.Regardless,
It changes how we enter
Into a given situation; Our hopes, our thoughts
Preparing, driving
The even the slightest
things we do.
