I lay my legs on Chelsea as I plopped a cherry in my mouth. I rested my other hand on my stomach, keeping Sinister on replay since it's our favorite scary movie.
"Imagine if I have a secret camera in my attic with tapes of me killing people." Chelsea says as she chews on her potato chips.
"Grab them and plopped them in." I laughed, nearly choking on my cherry.
"So when do you move in?" Chelsea asks.
A weeks later, my parents barely even acknowledge me anymore since it's been easier for me to go to my dorm and pack up little by little.
"Uhm, 3 days." I nodded.
"When are you gonna tell your parents, Dylan?" Chelsea says as she admires a chip before putting it in her mouth.
I rubbed my temples. "Tonight I guess."
"What? Really?"
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Why did you wait this long to tell them?" She asks as she faces her body towards me.
My double chins were probably showing as I lay on my shoulders. I shrugged. "I dunno, they've been busy to even listen but it's getting better." I lied.
"Oh okay! That's good I guess." Chelsea nods.
I nodded back and looked over to the front of the house when we heard the front door open. Appeared Calum and their mom, holding bags of groceries.
"Hey Joy, Hi Calum." I waved, Calum sending a tired look as Joy comes rushing with a big smile.
"Dylan! How are you?" She smiles as she gushes about my presence as Calum clings onto so many bag.
"I'm good." I smiled.
"I've been trying to call your mom to see if she would like to come over for dinner with you-"
"There's a problem, she lost her phone when she was on a business trip and I already have plans with them tonight." I nodded, throwing in a lie.
Joy pouted with her hands together against her waist. "Oh alright well another time! I need time with you before you leave."
I slightly chuckled as Chelsea rolls her eyes. "I'm not leaving the area."
"Well I know that! But, I remember the first time you came over in the 1st grade and you and Chelsea had the dinosaur chicken nuggets and now you're both are going to college, you can eat real chicken!"
"Mom! We do eat 'real' chicken. I just think we should eat the dinosaurs chicken nuggets again." Chelsea grins.
I nodded in agreement. "That'd be nice."
"You two are so impossible!" She laughs as she steals the cherry that I was about to eat, disappearing in the kitchen, instantly yelling at Calum for already spraying the can of whip cream in his mouth.
"I can't believe we start college in about a week." Chelsea mumbles, leaning her head against the pillow as Calum sits on the floor.
He leaned his head back against the couch by my hip. "I decided to go to the community college that's like 10 minutes from here." Calum buds in.
Chelsea looks at me with wide eyes. "You're going to college?"
Calum nodded. "Yeah I mean if Andrea and I are gonna move in together and have a future, I need to have a stable job with an education."
Chelsea and I burst into laughter, I was the first to speak. "You two have been together for about 3 months and she cheated on you not so long ago and you guys are already thinking about the future?"
