Chapter three

His name was Alex Hunt and he was the most sensoul person the girls at Knoxville High School had ever seen. Everyone was crazy over him. He was in all of Zyla's classes as well as Catherine Albert and her side kick Sienna Thomas. Zyla and her friends were hated by Catherine and her group purely because Zyla, Anora, Pearl and Aimee had rejected Catherine's hand of Friendship infront of most of the school, and what a spectacular show it had been for everyone watching. Catherine had been furious that she had been snubbed infront of others. After all she was the most popular girl. But seriously who would want to become friends with that snobby, sorry excuse of a person. All she ever cared about were gossip, boys and parties . There are more important things in life such as friendship. Zyla and her friends had seen the way Catherine treated her friends, if she even called them firends, more like her little slaves, doing everything she said without any second thoughts. Zyla could not bear the thought of following in her footsteps, doing everything she wanted, hence the reason Zyla refused. Her friends shared the same thoughts as Zyla and since then they had become enemies with Catherine.

Catherine had now decided that Alex was hers. She had already introduced herself to him and had begun to follow him around like a love sick obsessive school girl. Every time Alex would utter a word she would giggle and swoon over him. This irritating behaviour of hers was beginning to annoy other potential girlfriends. Oh yes, it was his first day and in only a few hours it had become comman knowledge that 3/4 of the female population were determined to be his girl, either by honest or foul means.

" Seriously, what has happened to everyone? Can they just please stop this sickening behaviour." Anora hissed. They had just passed a group of girls giggling and gossiping about the new boy. "But you have to admit that he is utterly gorgeous." Pearl whispered with a faraway look on her face. Her friends laughed at the expression on her face. Just then Alex stepped out of the room and promptly hit into Zyla who was holding books in her arms, causing her to drop them. Alex bent down to retrieve them for her. Zyla stood rooted to the spot staring down at the top of his head, speechless. Alex Hunt, the most desirable person in the whole school probably the whole neighbourhood was picking up her books for her. Well, he had bumped in to her and made her drop them which made it his fault. Zyla bent down to help. She was beginning to feel slightly faint at the close contact. After all he was the most gorgeous guy in the school. Zyla snaked out her hand to grab the last book just as Alex decided to reach out for it. Their hands met. An electrocute zapped through her body taking her breath away. She looked up and their gazes met. A blush spread accross her cheeks as she felt herself fall deep into his lovely green eyes. It felt as if time had stopped and there was no one in the else in the world in the world except them two. Suddenly, She heard a cough and a laugh above her. Zyla tore her eyes from his and looked up at her laughing friends. She jumped up from her embarrassing crouch. She looked anywhere but at Alex. " Well that was interesting."Pearl laughed. Zyla could feel the heat of her embarrassment radiating from her face. She was surprised she did'nt catch fire. Alex handed her books to her, obviously finding her shyness quite amusing, turned and walked away. Zyla stood rooted to the spot staring after him. Anora nudged her and said "Come on i'm starved."They walked to the cafeteria and stood in line. Zyla slid her tray accross the counter and selected her lunch. She balanced her tray on one hand and payed with the other, the books tucked under one arm. Zyla walked to their usual table, the tray wobbling dangerously. Finally reaching the table she slid on to the bench and stared at her pastry. What was happening to her?
