As a DeMolay you are to put others needs in front of yours. You are also to be kind to others and do an act of kindness whenever you can. This is called courtesy, the sixth of the seven cardinal virtues.
Courtesy not only shows that you care for people, but it also shows love toward your fellow person. Courtesy is very important whether it be given or received because one act of kindness is a lifetime worth of happiness.
