The large hand of the clock creeped closer to the seven. I sat a the edge of my seat, awaiting anxiously for Professor Doofus to finish his lecture. He already went ten minutes over our usual release time and all I could see was Benjamin outside the community college with crossed arms.

He had made me promise to be out of class on time. After all, there was a surprise he wanted to show me. I'd told him more than a thousand times surprises weren't my thing but still he did them. I can say though that now I've grown to appreciate his thoughtful acts.

Who am I kidding? I still hate them. I've just learned to portray joy rather than displeasure.

"Please read chapter forty-eight this week and write a paragraph summary of your thoughts before class next Thursday," Professor Doofus said while packing his brief case.

Perry Wong, beside me, raised his thin hand. There was a rally of groans and I was about to put the nerd in a headlock. Any other day I could deal with the kid's question. Just not today.

Professor Doofus must have notice the tense aura change in the room because he seemed reluctant to call on his favorite student. He glanced to the first row of students then to Perry, who was waving his hand.

Unable to escape the 'oh-oh's', Professor Doofus decided to call on Perry.

"What is your question, Mr. Wong?"

Perry begun to arrange his bold framed glasses upon his face, "do you think the human brain-"

There came a sudden bang from the door way of the lecture hall. I had assumed somebody must have left the class rudely but that wasn't it. The girls in front off me turned to study the person that entered. Their mouths hanging half open.

"Who is that?" One of the girls whispered to her drooling friend.

Professor Doofus looked to be asking the same question. His eyebrows scrunched together and he tried to ask calmly what this person needed. The room fell silent before suddenly two hands laid on my hips.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, sir. I am just here to collect what's mine and we'll be out of your hair."

I let out a gasp when my figure was thrown over his shoulder. Benjamin stood there in front my peers, wearing his detective's badge and a smirk. A rally of gossip quickly lit like wildfire.

Great, they all already didn't think so highly of me. Now this gives them more reason to judge my lifestyle.

I crossed my arms as Benjamin begun to climb the ail stairs, a little jump in his step. The girls and a few guys all stared at his ass. None of them trying to be secretive about it. I could already tell his ego was going to have grown after this experience.

"Benjamin, honestly, you couldn't have waited until class was released?" I grumbled while we finally walked out of the community college.

A few receptionist had made commentary but it was nothing too serious. It was surprising how easily they let us leave without question. I was being kidnapped and they didn't even think twice of it. They must have been part of his plan.

"I did wait. I sat patiently in the parking lot for an hour and a half waiting to see your beautiful face."

"Creep."

"Only for you," he chuckled before dropping me into the passenger seat of the car.

His palms laid gently against my waist. A crooked grin upon his face as he studied my scowl. It was odd how easily turned on he got just by seeing me angry.

Most men were afraid of their emotional fiancées- not Benjamin.

He begun to kiss me slowly, causing my anger to vanish. His mouth tasted a lot sweeter than usual. The flavor begun to overpower my better judgement.

I pulled him closer, looping a finger around his belt strap. The butterflies begun to flutter wildly in my stomach as a hand snuck up my shirt. On cue to the cool touch, the goosebumps danced across my flesh.

There came an unexpected creek and quickly he begun to move back from the Mercedes. A rosiness tinted his cheek, "oops."

I blinked in confusion at him for a second. I couldn't quite grasp what the hell had happen. My head still lost in the clouds.

"What?"

He nudged his chin towards the hood of the car.

"You indented the car?"

"It was an accident," he said quickly in defense, "you distracted me."

I rose an eyebrow, "so it's my fault?"

He begun to scratch the back of his neck. A dark crimson color crept into his cheeks as he fumbled over an apology. Most of it was the word sorry repeated over and over again but he tried to explain that he didn't mean for his comment to sound the way it did.

It was hard not to smile and accept his apology but I stayed stubborn. I rearranged myself to sit properly then pointed towards the disappearing sun, "aren't we suppose to be off to my surprise by now?"

"Oh shit," he gasped, "the ice cream!"

He raced over to the trunk and lift it to find his dumb mistake. The sweet vanilla ice cream supposedly melted through the container and destroyed a wedding magazine. At least it wasn't something too important.

Benjamin held the soggy magazine towards me with a bashful look, "I knew somehow I was going to screw this engagement party up."

"Engagement party!"

Benjamin cringed at the sound of my yell. He shook his head. "Okay, okay, it's not really a party. I just thought you and me could celebrate our engagement with a little red wine, ice cream, star gazing, and wedding planning."

I hid a smile behind my hand, "are you stupid?"

He heard the giggle in my voice and stopped his worrying. He watched as I stood from the Mercedes to walk closer to him. I ran a hand up his hair before dipping his head downward to get a better look at the blush upon his cheeks.

"You didn't ruin the celebration at all, as cheesy as this sounds, all I need tonight is you. No stars, no wedding magazine, or red wine. Is that alright?"

The Adam's apple in his throat wobbled. He nodded his head quickly and I stood to my tip-toes to steal a kiss.

"Let's make this evening great then."
