I frowned with annoyance at the mirror. The stupid piece of glass was obviously bias. How could it be so flattering to Benjamin yet make me look ten times worse?

Whoever said pregnancy made a woman more beautiful must have never had satan live in their belly because new flash it doesn't give you a feminine glow.

Okay, maybe it was a little too harsh to compare my baby to good old Lucifer but it knew why it deserves that jab.

My eyes held purple rings around them. They were bright yet dull at the same time. On the bright side, at least they weren't swollen like the rest of my aching body.

I rested a hand on my watermelon sized belly, judging the outfit I was wearing. It consist of elastic waist band jeans and an old grey hoodie of Benjamin's.

Ever since the third month, the hoodie had been attached to me. It was a sense of security whenever Benjamin wasn't five inches near. It smelled like his favorite cologne.

When work got too stressful all I had to do was flip the hood up and lay down. It wasn't exactly like being wrapped in his arms but it was the closest thing that washed away all the worries. It also warned all the league members to leave me the hell alone.

There came a light tap against the bedroom door. Before I could answer, the detective stuck his head in. He had a soft grin upon his face.

"Mrs. Royal, are you still looking in the mirror?"

I scowled at the teasing tone. He stepped in to our room and wrapped an arm tightly around my waist. He looked in the mirror with pride.

"Look at that sexy beast." He whistled while resting his chin on the top of my head.

I studied his reflection. He wore a fancy suit with his golden detective badge pinned to the pocket. His dark hair gelled back. Those blue orbs holding pure joy.

"You sure are." I purred, snuggling closer to him.

He let out a small laugh. His warm breath tickled my skin. It caused the butterflies to flutter.

"Thanks, my queen." He placed his lips onto my cheek, "but I was actually talking about you."

I looked to him with a risen eyebrow, "me? I'm more like an elephant than a beast."

"Elephants can be sexy too." He chimed then leaned down to kiss me.

I dodged his mouth. He really didn't mean that, right? He had to joking.

My lower lip started to tremble in fear.

A concern look crossed his face when he saw the odd sight. He quickly put a hand on my forehead. His other hand touched the top of his.

"You don't have a fever." He muttered aloud to himself, "then what is it?"

"You think other elephants are sexy!" I cried. The tears found their way out to the surface.

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Why was he such a stupid f*ckin' idiot!

He quickly stumbled back. A familiar touch of pink in his cheeks. He seemed to be completely surprised by my emotional outburst.
