And all the people say,

"You can't wake up, this is not a dream,
You're part of a machine, you are not a human being,
With your face all made up, living on a screen,
Low on self esteem, so you run on gasoline."

.....

Marinette leaned her head against her arm, which was sat up on the table and tried to pay attention to what the teacher was saying.

This was so stupid. She shouldn't be here. She should be thinking about how to stop Blanc and bring Noir back. Ladybug needed to be out there saving him, trying to figure out how to help him; but Marinette needed to be in school. Not that it mattered, she couldn't focus for more than three seconds until worrying about Chat again.

She would completely zone out, for a few seconds she would forget where she was and what she was doing. All that she could think about was Chat.

"Marinette, I hope your paying attention to the lesson" Miss Bustier asked, snapping Marinette out of her daze.

"Uh, Yes Miss" she lied. But the teacher bought it and continued her lecture.

Chat.

She thought about the battle they just had. She didn't want to hurt or fight him, but with his new strength and power, his continuous attacks, his threats, he didn't give her a choice.

But something else occured to her.

When she was running away from him, she didn't want to turn around, because she was scared.

She was scared; of him? Should she be scared of him? I mean, yeah he was targeting her, but that was Blanc, not Noir. Chat Noir would never hurt her...would he?

"Didn't it ever occur to you that I'm a powerful monster who can't be stopped?"

"C-Chat Noir....is not, a monster-!"

She had said that on instinct, because she was always telling others and herself that he wasn't a monster. But should she have said it then, when he was the one trying to persuade her that he was evil. Why was he saying stuff like that? Was he trying to convince her that he was a monster? Why?

This made no sence to her, it was becoming hard to think. She had one thousand thoughts racing through her head and now she couldn't even concentrate on own thoughts.

"Uh yeah, but you see I'm Chat Blanc now, and you need to get that through that stubborn head of yours! It's Chat Blanc now and Noir is dead!"

'Noir is dead?' Was that true? Was she too late? Had the akuma completely destroyed him?

No she can't think like that, she needed to focus on one problem at a time.

Problem one: finding Chat Blanc

How was she going to find him? She could track him again, but would Chat have already figured it out and turned it off?

"Marinette!" Alya yelled, almost at full volume.

Marinette turned to her, surprised by her outburst.

"What?" She asked.

"The bell has already rang, and you've just been sitting there staring off into space?" Alya explained.

It wasn't until then she looked around the room and noticed that they were the only two people left.

"Oh sorry Alya, i was...lost in thought" Marinette explained, as she slowly packed her stuff away.

"Girl, you can say that again. What are you so worked up about that causes you to shut the world out?" She asked as they walked out of their class and into the coutyard. "Marinette?" She asked again, when she took her time to answer.

"Y-yeah i heard you...its nothing you need to be concerned about, don't worry I'm fine" Marinette insisted her voice sounding tired as she was still half deep in thought.

Alya knew she wasn't 'fine', she was her best friend for crying out loud. But she also knew not to press on the subject. She knew she would tell her when the time was right.

"Ok, whatever you say girl"

By this time they were at the front of the school. Alya continued to talk to Marinette, who was only paying little attention, again, worrying about Chat.

Alyas phone suddenly started chiming, alerting her that there was news about Ladybug. She excitedly alerted Marinette and brought her phone up so they could both watch the footage.

It was a live news feed, only instead of the news reporter standing infront of the camera, she and, what had to be the camera man, were both sitting on the ground, back to back with their hands tied up together.

"Sorry people, but your report will have to wait" a voice said behind the screen, which was covered for a moment as the figure turned the camrea around to face themselves.

"Hey, Paris" Chat Blanc said, with a evil smile on his face, he blanaced the camera in his hands.

"I've got a message for Ladybug.." Marinettes eyes widened.

This wont end well.

"Listen, bug, don't think your getting away that easily, we have some unfinished buisness to take care of. So hurry up, or else. Clocks ticking" he warned.

The last thing to be seen was Chat's ring cracking the screen, leaving a jaggered spiderweb pattern until the feed turned to grey static.

"Wow, intense. What do you think he ment by: 'unfinished buisness'? Marinette?" She noticed Marinette, staring off into the distance again, looking scared.

Marinette finally shook her head, as if to shake away her thoughts.

"Uh, yeah, I- uh just remembered i have to go and...take care of this, thing..at home, I'll see you later" And with that, she ran off before Alya could ask any questions.

She noticed the surroundings of the video. He wasnt to far away from the Louvre. That's were he'll be.

She hid behind a building where Tikki flew out from her purse.

"Do you have a plan? Remember he was harder to battle last time" Tikki informed.

"Don't worry I'll figure something out. Tikki, spots on!"

Tikki was sucked into the earrings and transformed Marinette to Ladybug.

She swung herself up onto one of the building tops and ran towards where the footage was shot.

Eventually she made it to the scene and noticed the news people were still tied up. She ran over and untied them both and told them to run and stay safe.

She wondered around for a bit, being carful of her surroundings, for Chat Blanc could be anywhere.

She saw something move ontop of one of the buildings and used her yo-yo to lunge herself up and follow it.

But when she got up there, there was nothing there. Suddenly she heard slow clapping from behind her and spun her yo-yo around so it was now a sheild for herself, and turned around to see Chat Blanc, leaning against, what was probably, an air vent to the building, as if he were bored with his eyes looking up at her, still slowly applauding her.

He stopped and stood up properly , crossing his arms over his chest.

"Well well, you actually showed up. Thought I was going to have to do something 'dramatic' to get you here" he threatened.

Ladybug only gave him a firm look, as he got his staff out and held it with two hands, one end aiming at her.

"Round two, bug?" He challenged, as both of them got ready for another difficult fight.
