"(Y/N), will you please go to the Yule Ball with me?" George Weasley, asked, presenting you with a rose.

"Why, why, young man! Of course I shall accompany you." You grinned at him, trying to sound posh.

"Then, thank you for cherishing me with your blessed presence." He bowed down, grinning.

You clapped, and he pulled out another rose from his pocket.

"Gosh, George! When ever did you become so romantic?"

"When you became so pretty, meaning, since the day you were born."

"Smooth, Weasley, smooth." You giggled.

-A few days later-

There was still a week left till the Ball and Hogwarts was going crazy with excitement. You too were very excited. After all, you were going with the amazing George Weasley! And he had asked you out for it!

"Hey!" You waved at George who was walking towards you.

He didn't look up.

His eyes were glued to his book and he was near you.

"HEY!" You shouted, much louder, hoping he had heard you.

He looked up for a second then turned away. What was up with him?

You followed him, grabbing his shoulder. "George! What's up, hey? Why aren't you talking to me?" You shook his shoulders, "We still have to attend the dance classes! How, George? We need a plan!"

"I can't go with you. I don't want to go with you." He left as soon as these poisonous words left his mouth.

You were left shocked and flabbergasted.

"What the heck?" You mumbled, your chest tightening and your throat constricting.

George didn't want to go with you? Did he ask someone else out?
Maybe he thought you'd look ugly with him?
Were you not good enough?
And so a negative train of thoughts began which left you heartbroken.

That day you were sad, but much more angry. How could he do that to you? He had been your best friend for four years and now he did this to you!

Three days had gone, and you and George were still giving each other the silent treatment.

Avoiding each other but stealing short short glances at each other and huffing out in annoyance whenever you guys had to work together.
Which was basically every day, since you were both partners in every class.

The Ball was after two nights, your mom had sent you a gorgeous dress, and all your friends were so excited, yet you couldn't say the same for yourself. There was a certain red-haired someone you longed and yearned to talk to. You missed him. And so you decided to talk to your other best friend, Fred Weasley.

The next morning, with just one day before the Ball, you and Fred went and sat near the Lake.

"Fred, I don't know what I did wrong! George has been avoiding me and said he didn't want to go to the Ball with me." Your voice came out much sadder than you intended to show.

"(Y/N), I honestly don't know what's up with him. He's been avoiding me, his twin bro, as well. It sucks." Fred replied, with no fun or humour in his voice. "But don't worry, I'll talk some sense into his head."

"Thanks, Fred. You're awesome."

"I know." He grinned. You giggled and hugged him.

You pulled away and talked some more when you were interrupted with someone clearing their throat.

"Georgie! There you are!" Fred grinned at his twin.

"Here I am. No wonder, Leslie was right. You've truly been stealing her."
George said looking towards you,
"And looks like she did get stolen."

"Huh?" You got up angrily, "Excuse me, George? So now you'll fight with your best friend and brother because of some biatch that has a crush on you?"

You shook your head, and spoke in a venomous voice, "Fred is like my brother. Besides, I always had feelings for you. Now, maybe I'll go throw those feelings in a bin, because you're too thick in the head to understand that." Your tears could fall any moment.

You willed them to stop.

You began to walk away when George grabbed your wrist.

"What?" He whispered, his face as red as his hair.

"Nothing." You replied, your voice shaking, and hardly above a whisper. It could crack any moment now.

"(Y/N)." He said, his voice soft. "I-I am sorry."

"Oh, so now you're sorry? Yeah have you thought of how I felt? Maybe I wasn't good enough, too ugly, too plain for you?" Your voice broke and a tear slipped.

He gently wiped it away,
"Please, (Y/N), I was scared. You know how we never expressed our feelings. I was in an inferiority complex that maybe you liked someone else."

"How could you, George? I love you and you alone."

"I'm sorry (Y/N). I love you and you alone too, from every inch of my being."

He grabbed your hand and kissed it.

The next day you and George were to the Yule Ball together and he kissed you. It was the best night of your life.
