Another class began - to Ciel it was another boring hour of putting up with imbeciles and dumb people. This high school was the most boring place ever and he felt even more agitated.

Sighing, he turned his head to look outside the window next to his seat. A bed of lush green grass littered with light pink flowers and fallen autumn leaves could be seen. A gentle wind - he presumed - was making the flowers and tree leaves sway. He couldn't wait to go outside and sit under that tree and be left alone with his thoughts.

People were annoying. Interacting with them was even more annoying. (social interactions are scary ;-;)
Why did 99.9% of the human population piss him off?

A sweet sound - the laugh of (Y/N) (L/N) - pulled him out of this thoughts. Oddly enough, he had grown to like the sound of her voice and her laugh.

(Y/N) (L/N) was part of the 0.1% of the human population which Ciel did not dislike. She was funny, intelligent, charming and had a nice way of looking at life. Ciel would have liked to befriend her, had it not been so mentally draining.

Flashback:

"Ciel, right?"

He nodded, his cheeks slightly pink from shock/embarrassment.

"Do you want to hang out with me during lunch? You're always sitting alone.."

"No, I'm fine."

"Please, Ciel?"

"Alright, if you insist."

She smiled at him, and for the first time he realised that (Y/N) (L/N) had a really beautiful smile.

He had sat with her during lunch, and thankfully her circle of friends hadn't joined them. Ciel would have found it too much to talk to so many people at once.

After having talked to her, he had come to the conclusion that (Y/N) was a very interesting person. There was a lot more to her than which met the eye.

If he could talk her to more everyday, then maybe, coming to this terrible highschool wouldn't be so bad.

*end of flashback.*

That time he had sat with her during lunch was about two months ago. A lot had changed since then. She had gotten into a relationship with Alois Trancy - the person Ciel despised the most. And everything went downhill from there.

Ciel, strangely enough, had grown attached to (Y/N) during the two or three weeks they had sat together at lunch. Oblivious to his feelings, he didn't quite understand why those jittery butterflies appeared in his stomach whenever (e/c) eyes locked with his, whenever her hands touched his or whenever she smiled at him. It was all new to him.

Hence, he had been clueless as ever when he felt as if someone had stabbed him in the gut when he saw (Y/N) walk hand-in-hand with Alois to the classroom. Ciel had clenched his fists and narrowed his eyes at the new couple.

He had not approved of that couple a month ago and he still did not. Call it jealousy or whatever, (Y/N) deserved better - better meant Ciel Phantomhive.

Ciel liked her. A lot.

He pulled out his notebook, and began to write a short poem on his life, since the teacher made no intention of coming to class.
