I am so, so, so sorry!!! I know that it's Sunday, and I apologize for the two-day late update! On Friday, I wasn't ready to update, so I was planning on finishing it up on Saturday. But my mom had a yard sale yesterday, and made me stay outside all day. But it's finished now, and I hope you all enjoy! :)

I blinked my eyes open, adjusting to the sudden light. In an instant, there were flashes of light in my eyes, people checking my temperature, my ears, my mouth and throat, and everything else they could check. When they finally stopped, I got out of the Pod and walked over to Lucas. For one tiny moment, we weren't being payed attention to.
"Hey, remember what I said. Nothing about the thing, okay?" He muttered. I gave a small nod.
Dr. Price came up to us. "How did everything go? We lost contact in the beginning. One second, we saw your world spinning into focus around you, and the next, the Pods showed nothing but you. No one was hurt, which is good."
"The usual stuff. Former friends come to help, end up trying to hurt everyone instead. We fought them off, though. Then we made it to the Lab." Lucas explained. I glanced at him. Technically, that's all true.
"She brought out her ever-present clipboard and started to scribble furiously. "And did you Shift to fight them off, or did you fight them human?"
"Human. They weren't that hard to take down." Lucas responded.
"May I ask who 'they' are?" Dr. Price asked, briefly looking up at us.
"'They' were two Shifters named Nikolas and Noah." I answered this time.
"Last names?"
"Rane and Crest."
She dropped her pen. I don't think she noticed, since she was apparently in shock. "The Alpha and Beta of Storm Pack?"
"Uh, I don't know?"
"How can you not?! They always tell the recruit who and what they are before they turn them! Unless-" Dr. Price grabbed my left arm and pulled up my sleeve. She looked at the palm of my hand - nothing was on it - and scrolled her eyes down to my wrist. My eyes bugged out. What was on my arm?!
There was a tiny, black paw-print where my hand met my arm. I never got a tattoo, not even a temporary one, so what the crap was it?
"What's that?" Lucas asked.
"Her marking. To show that she's met her mate." The doctor breathed. "But it's a paw-print, signifying that it's a Wolf."
I pulled my arm from her grasp, since it was getting awkward. "Mate?"
Our mate is the one who makes us complete. Shifters sometimes wait forever to find theirs, but we are lucky enough to find ours so soon. Whisper told me.
Lucas turned to Dr. Price. "How can this work? What are we going to do with her now?"
"I don't know. We have to bring you to Dylan. He'll know what to make of this." Dr. Price - I really wanted to find out her first name or something - grabbed my arm again, pulling me to the door. I shook her off.
What's the big deal? And I can walk on my own, jeez, I thought.
They are afraid that we might be a spy. They know that you are part Wolf, but did not expect to see the mate marking of one. Anita noted.
Lucas fell in step next to me as we obediently followed the doctor. She set a very fast pace, so we were struggling a little to keep up.
As we made our way back to the Leader's office, I looked through the glass windows of the various rooms along the corridor. Scientists were staring into microscopes, their assistants taking notes. Others had Eagles stretching their wings out, being examined.
