After multiple months of planning for the wedding, the time had finally come. It was a warm night in October, and as I quickly paced back and forth in my hotel room, I felt my heart beating as fast as it possibly could. I felt like I was about to pass out, but that was most likely because I was about to get married to the man of my dreams. The wedding was being held back in Atlanta since most of our friends and family lived there. About one hundred people were invited to the wedding; and most of them were staying in the most fabulous hotel we could find.
As I paced back and forth, I decided it would be better to just sit down on my hotel bed. After I did so, Amber and my other friend, Primrose, knocked on my door. Without saying anything, I opened the door to their smiling faces. Both were dressed in beautiful lavender sparkly dresses with the same colored bows in their hair. Primrose wore her brown hair long and wavy, while Amber wore her black perm pulled back into a bun. Or at least tried to. "Oh my god, Marie! You look so pretty! I can't believe this is happening to you," Amber exclaimed, hugging me quickly. My hair was feathered back and fluffy like it always was, sitting on the top of my shoulders. I wore a beautifully long white wedding dress with lace sleeves and a lace midriff. The dress was full and puffy, making me look like Cinderella or Snow White. In my hair I wore a lace veil, with mini bows on the top and sides. I wasn't wearing any trace of purple besides my eye shadow, since that was supposed to be the accent color at the wedding. Ozzy had picked out the purple since it was his favorite color, and I knew he was making the guys in his band wear purple ties and vests with their black suits.
"You should probably wear some more purple. I mean, look at us. And I'm pretty sure Ozzy is going to be wearing some purple," Primrose added, looking at herself in the full - body mirror on the back of the hotel room front door.
"Alright, alright. I think I have some stuff," As I walked to my small rose printed jewelry box, I pulled out a purple diamond necklace and a pair of earrings to match. "Is this good enough for you?" I asked, putting both pieces of jewelry on. "Or do I need more?"
"Well you're going to be walking down the aisle with purple flowers, right? I think that's enough."
I smiled a little. "They're purple and white roses. Roses are always nice," As I sat back down on my bed, Amber sat next to me.
"Marie, I can't believe you're getting married. I... I just... I can't believe it's to... Ozzy Osbourne. Of all people. I'm happy for you, it's just so... unexpected," Amber sighed happily, squeezing me in another hug. The girl really liked to hug, and I didn't blame her. Human contact was good for the soul, and now that I was about to get married, my friends couldn't make fun of me for being a virgin anymore. Talk about human contact. I'd sure be having human contact tonight, and-
(Wow am I a dirty minded girl or what)
"Yeah, I know. I'm surprised as well," I responded, taking a deep breath. As I looked around the room, I noticed that the clock said it was 6:30 and the ceremony was supposed to start at seven. "We should probably get to that church, eh?" As I stood and grabbed the shoes I was going to wear, my friends made their way out the door and stood in the hall, waiting for me."My car is outside. I'll go get it started," Primrose said, running to the elevator. Amber and I nodded, and made our way down to the main lobby. As we stood in the lobby, the front desk woman caught sight of us from the corner of her eye.
"Oh, you're that girl who's getting married! Is that tonight?" She asked, smiling. "Is your soon - to - be - husband a nice man?"
I nodded. "Yeah. It's tonight. And yeah, he is. Some people may not think so, though. He's a bit... weird," I giggled, adding a slight smile afterwards. "I'm pretty sure you know who he is,"
The front desk woman gave a weird look. "How would I know him...?"
"Well, you've heard of the band Black Sabbath, right?"
She nodded. "My son loves them... why?"
"Well, the frontman... he's the man I'm getting married to."
She gasped in what seemed like a horror. "Ozzy Osbourne?! R-really?"
"Yeah... he's actually a really nice guy. Like when I first-" As I was trying to tell the woman about how I first met Ozzy, Amber tugged on my arm.
"Marie, no time for chatting! Prim has her car pulled up out front. We have to get to the church! Come on!" As I was quickly pulled outside and pushed into my friend's blue van, I adjusted myself in the seat.
"I was trying to talk to that nice woman. Thanks a lot, guys," Rolling my eyes, I clicked my seatbelt and then took a deep breath. Tonight was my night, and I was about to get married. Never had I thought it would happen, but here it was, happening on a warm October night in the middle of Atlanta, Georgia.
