I could see tears falling off Jess's face.
I walked to her slowly, I couldn't just leave her alone here. To Rot, to die, to turn crazy. "You're infected, aren't you?"
I looked down on the dirt and felt the wind blow through my hair. What were we gonna do?
"You should've told me."
She had a guilty look on her face, I'd never expect to see that kinda face on a "Little Miss Perfect"
"I know! But I was afraid you'd be afraid of me!"
"So you just told Taylor!"
More tears started to fall down her face.
"We're going for the medicine, and I'm gonna save you and everyone else."
"What?!" Jason yelled.
I told him about Jess's infection and that we're going for Texas right away.
"We can't just keep an infected girl!" He yelled "she's dying slowly, we might as well just leave her!"
I pushed him onto the side of the truck. "Do you know what trust is?! Do you know what it feels like when you're slowly losing someone?!"
He glared at me.
"Oh yeah, you don't because you spent almost 14 years being a coward!"
I screamed.
It was quiet for almost 3 minutes and then Taylor broke it. "We should head to Texas now."
It was midnight now. Taylor was driving and the girls were in the back again.
I looked at Jess. Her fierce brown eyes has faded. Her tan skin was now pale. And her face wasn't fearless anymore, it was a mixture of guilt and fear.
"Hey, you'll be fine." "You'll survive."
I tried to keep up everyone's spirits but it didn't help when it started raining.
"I can't see the road with all this stupid rain!" Taylor said in frustration.
Since it was pouring we stopped the truck and all slept.
I cried myself to sleep.
