Prevail or Fail

Previously on ' It only took one word!'

Bree's POV
" CHASE!" Adam, Leo and I cry. I saw my brothers head go under the water. His lungs were filling with water and he was loosing oxygen.
Leo, Adam and I frantically bang on the glass.
" WE HAVE TO SAVE HIM! " I cry in anger and sadness. My eyes were red as I saw my brother forced into the water.
" Wait a second I have an idea. I may be able to save Chase I just need to call in for backup." Leo says in a confident voice.

Leo's POV
" Mr Davenport send Taylor and Logan to the mission sight, get then to geo- leap here we don't have much time." I command
Seconds later Taylor and Logan reveal themselves
" Leo what's wrong? " Taylor asked
" No time to explain we have to connect our laser spheres to form one large EMP, to save Chase's life. " Leo says while motioning to the water filled vault.
" Got it! " she responds eagerly
" Logan, I need you to direct the EMP to the vault, this will shut down the lock  system and the vault will open.Got it?" I order.
He nods in agreement.
I grasp onto Taylor's hand tightly as lights sparked together. Together we formed our laser spheres into one large EMP. I had a glimmer of hope that things may work out for Chase. I hope we can get our brother back.
" Okay Logan 3,2,1 now" I shout as Logan directs the EMP to the vault.  A large explosion is caused by the impact of the EMP. We all stumble to the ground, seconds later we hear the lock disable.
Suddenly the vault door swings open and the water floods the room. I see Chase floating in the water unconscious. Fear takes over my body as I see him.
" Quick Adam, pick Chase up." I say as Adam catches Chase's limp body.
We gasp at the sight of our brother. So pale, so lifeless, facing death. I quickly check his pulse.
" We are loosing him" I say in a shaky tone
" We have to get him out of here" Taylor says.
" Grab on I'll super speed us out" Bree states
We all grab her while Adam Carries Chase. Within a second we were out of the building and narrowly escape death as the building begins to collapse behind us.
I watched as the building went down. I look at my brother with a glimmer of hope that he may open his eyes. I pray that everything will be ok.

Davenport's POV

I lost communication with Chase. I saw him face death as his head fell under the water. Watching the security feed of the mission was so hard. My son was suffering because I gave him incorrect orders.
I didn't know how he was going to escape, until Leo asked for Taylor and Logan to assist them. The plan had worked! I smiled at that moment, but that still didn't take away from the pain that my son might be dead. I feel warm tears run down my face.
" This is all my fault" I whisper to myself
Suddenly I hear Bree and the others enter the academy. I quickly rush down to the training area to meet them. The sight of Chase sent a shiver down my spine. He shouldn't be in this position he tried to warn me about the consequences but I was blinded by my fury
" Ohh My Gosh, Chase. Adam quickly rush him to the infirmary we don't have much time. " I cry as I feel his pulse getting weaker.
Adam quickly raced to the infirmary with Chase in his arm. I called some of the best doctors in the world to come to the academy. To try and save my son.

Bree POV
As soon as we get there, Chase is rushed to the infirmary.
" Chase please wake up, Please" I beg as tears stream down my face.
The look on Mr Davenport's face was awful. He must of felt so bad. How did the vault even get in lockdown mode. I had so many questions but they all had to wait. Chase's life was at risk, and all I wanted was to hear his voice. See his hazel eyes, hug him and never let go. Siblings argue and fight but it is not till your faced with a death situation that you notice how much you love your siblings. Warm tears run down my face. My breathing was shaky and my heart was racing rapidly.
Adam and Leo embrace me in a hug as they wipe away their tears. I see Mr Davenport watch the doctors in awe as the hook my brother up to many machines. A doctor was currently trying CPR on him but nothing had happened yet.

" I need a defibrillator now!" A doctor commanded
A defibrillator. My brothers only hope. I was about to come closer to my brother, but the doctors ordered us out of the room.
I wasn't going to leave! My brother is on the brink of death and they think I'm going to leave.
I quick and scream shouting at the top of my lungs.
" Bree, let's go. We need to" Leo says
" I can't leave him!" I cry
" If you love your brother and you want to see him again you have to trust what I say. Please we will try and save your brother but you just need to cooperate with us. " One doctors stated
A let out a sigh and put down my guard
" Ok" I whisper as I leave the room with Adam, Leo and Mr Davenport.

As we are walking out a doctor approaches Davenport with a device in his hand.
" Davenport sir, we found this in your sons mission suit." One of the doctors said whilst handing Mr Davenport a blue device.
Mr Davenport's face dropped.
" He completed the mission. He got the device that was going to destroy the building. Wait there is a note on the device" he quietly states while picking it up and reading it.
" The reason the device malfunctioned is because one of the wires were wires were destroyed. I fixed the device so it should work. From Chase" Mr Davenport read. His face fell to the floor.

Mr Davenport's POV

Despite all the arguing with Chase, he Completed the mission even at the cost of his life.
" What is it Mr Davenport? " Adam asked
" Chase fixed the device that I had been working on for 10 years. "I replied.
They all stood there silently.
" Mr Davenport, I'm just going to be honest with you. Chase is a great mission leader. He saw me struggling whilst I was holding up that beam. He put his life in danger for us. He used all his strength to direct the pillar on an angle to prevent the roof from collapsing on us. He doesn't have super strength or the ability to breath under water , yet he put his life in danger for us. In pretty sure I speak for anyone when I say Chase is an amazing leader." Adam explains

" Your right Adam, and so was Chase. I'm sorry for not being the best father" I state.
They all look at me with sorrow in their eyes.
" Mr Davenport you should really be apologising to Chase!" Bree states
I bow my head in shame. Bree slowly approaches me and rests her hand on my shoulder.
" Don't worry Chase is a fighter, he will come through." Leo comforts
Soon after they all embrace me in a big hug.

Suddenly we hear loud chants coming from the infirmary . We quickly rush to the infirmary window. Chases's limp body jolted up as the defibrillator touched his chest.
" CLEAR" the doctor shouted
Nothing happened. Tears were streaming down my face
" CLEAR AGAIN" the doctor screamed as the defibrillator touched his chest again
Nothing happened. My heart was pounding out of my chest. " This is all my fault" I whispered as I squeeze my eyes shut.
" Let's try one more time! CLEAR" the doctor cried
.........
