"Come on Dezi!" She yelled. "It's Dez!!" I replied with a laugh. The night is starting to approach and the street lights are coming on. Panki and I realized this, and race down the street to my house. Laughing when we finally stop one block away. "No Fair!" She exclaims. Barely understanding her with one of her front teeth missing. She is almost 7 at this age, and I only a year younger. I am advanced for my age though, which allows me to be in her grade. "That's because you're slooooww!" I teased. She tackled me into the grass, and we laughed and played some more until it was complete pitch black. We often do this. She is my best friend in the whole wide world! I love her like a sister with all my heart. "Panki!" We hear people called out. On sync we both turned our heads to the noise, and I see Panki's mom running to us with her dad waiting on the street curb. She grabs my friend up by the arm, jerking her to her feet. She whispers "What have I told you?! It is dangerous for you to be out this late at night your kind...." She looks at me. "As children... could be taken away from us loving parents. You both should be home getting ready for dinner! We were just worried." She laughs strangely, and Panki looks afraid. "Can Panki stay whiff my tonight?" I mumble loudly. My speech isn't the best at this point in my life... "No," Her father interrupts. "She has to finish packing for tonight. We are moving to America in a few days." I sigh. I will miss her so much... Things won't be the same without her.
That was the last memory I ever had with her father. Then there was that story that he walked out on them for someone else... but I guess it was something else. He starts to stand until Bri shifts her stance to territorial. He sits back down. "So why have you come to me today?" He clears his throat. "I brought her here to help find the one I am looking for-"
"WHICH..... Which you still haven't told me the person you are seeking. You are very secretive, blossom." He interrupts. "I don't have to tell you sh-"
"Enough. If you wish for my help or my permission anymore on your little projects, you will not keep anything else from me." He says proudly. "It is your job as my successor if you ever wish to rule this place. Or if you like keeping your precious wings." She shivers a bit and my eyes widen. He doesn't know... Would he even still care? Would he care if his wife died and his daughter is missing?! He hasn't been around since she was twelve so that was five years ago. Brianna's expression went cold. "Panki is missing." Interrupt. His eyes fill with shock and pain. So he does care...
"What?! How." He stands. "Has anyone had any contact with her?" He places his hand on a wall and a corridor opens. We follow shortly behind. "No sir, she has been missing for a couple months now." Bri responds. "Men! We have a new objective!" He instructs. Stopping at the end of the hall in-front of a huge crown mixed with demons, undertakers, and frisps. "Find my baby girl! I want her back here safe in the gates! No harm is to come her way do I make myself clear?!"
"YES SIR." They all screeched back, taking flight in the air. All heading for the exit. "There is something else you should know Mr. Takenashi..." Bri finally let's her guard down. "Yes? Out with it!"
"Mrs. Takenashi... She is dead." His expression doesn't change. "What a funny, cruel joke you believe in." He whispers. "What?! How can you say that?" I barked back at him. "Once you die... Your soul drifts either one way or another. Heaven or Hell... If what you are saying is true.... She never showed up here, not noticeably anyways." Thoughts raised my mind then went to Lillian. "DID LILLIAN EVER COME HERE!? WHERE IS SHE!? PLEASE!" Tears rushed down my cheeks. "Here we go again." Brianna sighed taking her position next to me. I glare at her with hateful eyes, wiped away my tears, and when I calmed down a bit I turned back to him. Mr. Takenashi looked at me puzzled. "I never saw her pass my gates, but I there is something I could help you with..." He said stern, curling his lips. His eyes narrowed and focused on mine, leaving me puzzled. He grabbed my shoulder and lead me to the wall. "Shh." He stammered. He walked up to the neatly placed bricks and pressed four of them in a pattern. When he finished a pathway opened and he walked in, me and Bri following close behind.
We walk up to a slim, thin mirror with golden edges. At the top of the mirror was a face. One side was twisted, with an evil half-grin. The other was an innocent face with a sincere half-smile. Combining the two faces it blurred leaving it more creepy looking than anything. "Jahova." Mr. Takenashi called out. Nothing happened. "Jahova!" He said again, more powerful which made the mirror shake. At his command the mirror became foggy, swirling until a man appeared. It was God himself.
