Considering he wasn't in cuffs already, and being sentenced, today went pretty well for the soon-to-be college student. Yagami had confidence he wouldn't be caught -- at least long enough to do some actually change globally. He still couldn't understand though -- why L was against it. Why purging the world of its sins and evils wasn't benefitting humanity.
Maybe I'm sick, Light held his head on his fist, but he couldn't muster an ounce of care in the world.
Except for this one.
He couldn't help the huff of a chuckle that fanned his upper lip, muse and the butterflies of sweet giddiness that swarmed his chest.
Everything about this man had such a -- uniqueness. But it made everything else seem so bland, cold, detached and unloving. His skin was soft, pale, his eyes -- the elegant lashes that covered them.
The obsidian rocks adorned embers that swam in the sun, so beautiful that Light had resented the eyelids that concealed them from beneath a night sky.
"Light, is everything alright? You've been staring at me for a moment." Light snapped from his daze, and takes the bridge of his nose in his fingers as he closes his eyes for a small huff. "Sorry," Light chuckles, almost to himself. "I don't know what is wrong with me today." L slides a jello cube in his mouth, taking a second to properly chew, and swallow. "Would you like to take a second for fresh air?" L studies Light's expression. A smile curls his lips. "Yes, please." L excuses the two of them, leaving the hotel room to walk up the stairs. Before Light could ask where he was leading him to, L opens the roof access door, holding it open for him.
The view was of a cloudy, grey sky, but outside nonetheless. Where the breeze is chilly, the fall air settling into the corners of Tokyo.
"This is the best place I could think of, I'm sorry if it's not suited to your tastes." L sighs, eyes capturing the clouds looming over the city. "No, this is perfect, thank you." Light reassures softly, taking in L's features. "Something has been on your mind. I may not know what, but you've been acting out of character."
Light sheepishly rubs at the nape of his neck, eyes glued to the floor. "I should've expected that from the most perceptive detective." L chuckles. "No, you should've expected it from a friend." Friend. That word stung. More than skin grinding against the gravelly texture of the road. More than a knife to the chest.
But - shouldn't L feel that way more than anybody? After all, Light is Kira. But L knows that. Knows that more than anybody too.
"Was it something I said? I apologize." L leans his arms against the railings. "No, it wasn't you. Maybe it was me, I'm just, confused on my feelings nowadays." Conflicted. That rung true. Light felt it, again. His heart began to speed faster than he could think. "Mind elaborating? As a friend, I'm supposed to be here for you, and I always will be, whenever possible."
He didn't know what came over him, but anger began to burn in his chest. Not at L, but himself.
He tugs L's shirt to his chest, connecting L's lips to his own. His own soft, plump, pale lips. That he's grown to adore. L tenses, freezing up against the unexpected contact.
Light savors the kiss, the taste, the feeling, L's hands curled on his chest. L, one of the smartest beings on planet Earth - was clueless on what to do.
He couldn't deny his body's reaction to it.
He couldn't deny how his heart was racing.
Couldn't push aside how warm his face and chest felt.
L eases into the kiss, mind shutting down to stop the racing. Stopping the efforts to make sense of it all. Even if this was a ploy, it wasn't.
Light has been acting strange.
This was the answer.
This is what's been on his mind.
Itching, scratching to get out.
The way he fliches when he establishes the relationship as a friendship.
L was soon breathless as their lips moved in sync, inexperienced, anxious. A fluttering batch of warmth soothing over their chests. A blooming tingling in L's core. He forced himself to part, head dizzy from the lack of air. Light didn't stop his shower of affection. The wordless confessions of his mind. His lips attacked the detective's neck, soft kisses and licks amongst the delicate flesh. L whimpers, nipples pebbling under his loose fitting shirt.
"Light," L manages, voice strained, almost in a whisper. "I'm sorry L, but this," Light halts the ministrations on the elder's neck, gaze now engulfed in L's obsidian eyes. "You've been on my mind. I - I have feelings for you. A lot of them. I didn't understand them at first, until now. I'm sorry if this is a lot for you, it's a lot for me, and it was wrong of me to come onto you so strongly."
L takes a moment to answer, gently lacing his fingers through the brunette's hair, unfamiliar to the sensual and loving touches. "It's quite alright. I have to admit, these feelings are foreign. I've had no romantic experiences until now, so, it will take some time to process. However, it doesn't mean I don't harbor similar feelings." L pants, trying to catch up with his train of thought. Light didn't sink in disappointment, instead smiles, and chuckles sheepishly. "Thank you for being so patient and understanding with me, Ryuzaki."
L's face was a mask for words. Words he could never say. Worlds full of all logic that made the feelings in his heart make no sense of.
How much more dangerous could this get.
