"But Pacifica, she's of a lower social class than us." Her father says, disreguarding the fact that I'm even here.
"You think I care about that? We saved your lives! If it wasn't for us, you'd be dead! Or stuck in stone for all of eternity! Social classes don't matter anymore!" Pacifica argued. "I don't care if they matter to you, but she stayed with me- when no one else would.. When- when I was so mean to her! She stayed with me!" She squeezes my hand tightly, it hurts but I don't mind.
Her father stares at her wide-eyed, not able to say anything for a couple minutes. "F-fine.." He finally says, sighing deeply. "She can stay with us, but she has to stay in the guest room." I smile wide, about to thank him, "the guest room next to mine." She speaks up, causing him to furrow his eyebrows as he lets out another sigh. "Fine, fine! Be in your seperate rooms by 9:00 pm! No later! There are cameras in the hall. If I see either of you go into eachother's room, you'll be introuble. Got it?" He says sternly, looking at both of us in the eye. "Y-yes sir.." Pacifica says, her voice wavering slightly. I nod in agreement and they let us go.
Pacifica keeps her grip on my hand, pulling me to her room. She sits on the bed, looking down slightly. "I'm sorry about that.. My parents are just.. Strict, is all." I sit down next to her, grabbing her hands, looking into her eyes, "it's not your fault, Pacifica.."
Pacifica's face starts to turn a slight shade of red as she looks back into my eyes, she quickly looks passed me, her eyes widen as she quickly gets up, her hand running through her hair. "Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no! It's almost nine! You need to go to your room, Mabel."
I look at her sympathetically. "Why are you so afraid of your parents?.." I ask, standing up. "It.. It's just.. I.. Can't tell you.." She says looking down, "just please, go to the guest room." She says, looking back up at me. "Why won't they let me stay with you in your room?" I question, causing her face to turn a slight red. "I.. I don't know, Mabel." I don't say anything else. I just kiss her cheek gently, leaving her room, going to the guest room next to her bed room, closing the door behind me.
I sit on the bed, assuming that one of her parents are going to come to see if we're in the seperate rooms. "But why does it matter? Why can't we sleep together?" I ask myself. Soon, her mom opens the door. "Goodnight." Is all she says as she leaves, closing the door behind her.
I decide to lay down to try to go to sleep. When I soon hear yelling once again. "Oh no.." I speak aloud to myself. "I have to get to her room somehow.." I say, sitting up in the bed. I look around the room, looking to the window, getting an idea to climb out of the window, shuffling to hers since it's right next door.
I go over to the window, opening it quietly. I take a deep breath, looking down. "It's a long way down.." I say to myself, climbing out of the window, hanging on for life. I quickly shuffle over to her window, hanging onto the ledge. I'm hanging by the ledge, pulling myself up slowly, knocking on her window.
She's laying down, she sits up, rubbing her eyes, looking over at me through the window. Her eyes widen as she quickly comes to the window, opening it for me. "Are you crazy?!" She asks as she grabs my hand, pulling me in. As she's pulling me in, she loses her balance, falling onto the floor, pulling me down with her, causing me to be on top of her, looking down at her.
I can feel my cheeks burn as her face begins turning red. I look down at her, looking into her eyes. I quickly get up, my face burning even more. "S-sorry.." I say, looking down slightly as I help her up.
She goes to the door, turning on the light. "Mabel, why did you do that? You're seriously crazy, you could have fallen and been hurt!" I look down slightly "I heard your parents fighting.. I wanted to come and comfort you.." I say as I go over to her, wrapping my arms around her, hearing yelling once again. I hold her tighter, causing her to wrap her arms back around me, hiding her face in the crook of my neck. "Thank you, Mabel.."
