"I spent the whole summer trying to find my summer romance with some boy I barely knew. Tried with love potions and a mermaid.. Even with some gnomes I was hoping was a vampire." I let out a small chuckle with that memory. "But my summer romance was with you all along. I thought you were so beautiful when I saw you at that party but I didn't think anything of it. And the way you sang up on that stage. It took my breath away. I wanted to show you what I could do too! I wanted to impress you like you did with me! I honestly didn't want to win, I just wanted you to think I was cool. Like you. I didn't want the attention from all of those people, I only wanted yours. I was constantly telling myself I just wanted to be friends with you. That I wanted to know more about you. But you were always on my mind. I was telling myself everyday when I saw another boy that he was the one. Convincing myself that I was straight. Surpressing my actual feelings because I was afraid of what others would say.. Of what you would say.. I was hoping you would let the act go and show me who you truly are. I'm glad you finally have. I knew that wasn't who you were. You were just afraid to treat me like you wanted to around everyone since you have a reputation.. I'm so glad that you liked me as I liked you." I grab Pacifica's hands in my own, looking into her eyes. She quickly frees her hands, wiping her tears away.
"Mabel.." She says quietly, "that's so sweet.. How.. Mabel." She can't find the words to say, she soon falls on me, her arms tightly wrapped around me.
"But, didn't you have something planned for us?" I question, causing Pacifica's eyes to widen as she lets out a gasp. "Oh no! You're right! Maybe we're not too late!" Pacifica pulls out her phone, checking the time as she looks down sadly, letting out a deep breath.
"The reservation was an hour ago.." She says sadly. "I'm sorry Mabel, we weren't able to go on our first date.."
My eyes widen. "What?! Are you crazy?! Today has been the best day ever because I've spent it with you! Dancing in the woods, kissing in a hot air balloon? Today couldn't have been better." I say as I kiss her gently.
A smile comes onto her lips. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
"Did you enjoy it?" I ask as I wrap my arms around her neck, pulling her close to me. "I mean.. What I had planned was ruined so.."
"PACIFICA!" I yell as I punch her gently.
"Okay, okay! Calm down Mabel! Of course I enjoyed it! I got to spend time with the most beautiful girl ever." She gives me a gentle kiss as a smile comes onto my face. "You're more beautiful."
"No you are."
"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."
"Ditto to you, babe."
I place my forehead on hers, staring at her. "I love you.." She speaks quietly. "I love you too." I reply, kissing her gently. "We should get back home. It's pretty late.."
