Hunter and Delia tried to pick her up and revive her. My stomach churned as she groaned when they picked her up. She looked at me and snarled with a gargle. All of a sudden she lunged towards me and grabbed me by the shoulders. Hunter lunged forward into her and pushed her backwards.
She stumbled backwards and got back up making it look effortless. As I looked at her I realized, she isn't human, which means she wants food. I ran over to the alarm and rung it. The entire club evacuated till it was just me, Jackson, Delia, and Hunter.
Jackson grabbed Delia's hand as we
stared at the used to be human. It looked at us all making me shiver. I bent down and picked up the broken room. Now it's just me and her, just us. She charged towards me and I dodged within seconds.Jackson tried to grab her, but I stopped him. "No, take Delia and go somewhere safe. Me and Hunter got her." I said. Jackson didn't hesitate and grabbed Delia and ran. I looked back at the thing and pinned it against the wall.
It snipped at my face and I pushed the broom into it's throat. Hunter grabbed a small knife from the kitchen and stabbed it in it's head. Hunter picked me up and we locked eyes, for a long time. I smiled and went to the door.
People were running all over and no one stood still. Then I spotted one of those things looking for it's next meal. Hunter went and opened the door but I pulled his arm. I can't afford to lose him, he's the only person I have now. And it might take me forever to find Delia again.
"I have to find my sister, she's at home, alone." He said. I stopped and let go of his arm. "We'll go together, that way you won't be alone." I said. He smiled and I handed him another broom. In the corner of my eye one of those things were eating something.
It was a man and he was snarling. The guy he was eating was screaming out of pain, then he coughed up some blood. I looked away and tried to focus. The city is in shackles, all the lights are off and there are only one to two street lights on. We opened the door and began to run.
As we ran cars started bumping into each other and people jumped out. All I could hear was screaming and sobbing, just terrible sounds. Hunter opened the door and called out his sisters name. "Mary Kate, Mary Kate." He screamed. I walked around and looked at the pictures.
Just pictures of him as a child and Mary Kate. He walked downstairs and opened up a door into a room. A little girl with in a gown sat in the corner rocking back and forth. Hunter ran over to her and her eyes lit up with joy. "Alex." She said springing onto him.
He returned the hug and picked her up. She looks about three or four, or six because of her speech. She looked at me and then Hunter. "Who's she, is she one of the monsters." She said pouting. She buried her head in Hunters shoulder and began to sob.
"No, her name is Adrian, she's a friend of mine." He said winking at me. She looked at us both and began to laugh. "Alex and Adrian sitting in the tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G." she began to chant. My cheeks began to flush a bright red with embarrassment.
Our happiness was interrupted when a loud bang was heard from outside. Hunter put Mary Kate down and told her to stay put. "Go and get her some clothes and then we'll go to your house." He said running upstairs. I grabbed Mary Kate's hand and brung her upstairs. She's smart for her age, too smart to not know what's going on.
She led me to her bedroom and showed me her clothes and her backpack. I opened her backpack and took out the stuff she didn't need. She looked at me as I took out a little notebook. "Please, can I keep that." She said with puppy eyes. I looked at her and then the notebook.
It'll be good for her to have something to hold on to, since the world is ending and all. "OK, but we have to leave behind other stuff." I said. She nodded and grabbed her backpack. I gave her some clothes and waited for her to change.
"Its not polite to stare." She said. I turned around and waited for her to change. Hunter came upstairs and told me to come to him. "We need to hurry, people are leaving, and turning." He said. Mary Kate came from behind me and hugged Hunter.
"OK, you two go and find some place safe, Hunter try and find a way to the airport or docks." I said giving him a push. He grabbed Mary Kate and ran downstairs then outside. Now I'm left alone no one here to help me. I ran downstairs and outside. But this time I'm going nowhere. To be honest, there's no where to go.
Besides the one place I feel safe, home.
