Chapter 19

[Wednesday]

After school Jonathan and I went back to the dealership to buy my car. I hadn't told any of the guys yet because I want it to be a surprise. Simon was already sort of mad about me and Jonathan going to supper the other night (over-protective boyfriend, you know the deal) and I didn't want to tell him that he also helped me pick out a car. Anways, we drop by the dealership and I sign the papers and pay for half of it, the other half will be payed off in small portions monthly. I would've bought it sooner but I had to ask my parents and with the time difference its sort of hard to catch them. The deal is that they will pay for half (aka the down payment) and they'll pay for half of the price every month, so they're technically paying for 3/4 (or 0.75% if you're mathy) of it. That means I need to get a job. Jonathan and I have been applying at a lot of places around here and one actually called me and said they wanted me. Its a few blocks away from the house, its a small coffee shop and it's kinda "out-dated" but hey, you gotta start somewhere. So basically how this place works is a little abnormal, they have under 10 employees and they all work at least 4 days a week, also, theres only two shifts to chose from, you either work from 8 am-4 pm, or 4 pm- 10 pm, I work the early shifts on the weekends and the late shifts on school nights, I get paid $10.50 an hour and I work for 34 hours a week, so I get paid $357 per week, not bad, huh? Its going to be hard but I don't care, I need to do it. I chose to have Tuesday and Friday off every week, but I can pick up shifts or change my days off. I'm scared about how the guys will react but that won't change anything.
Anyways, with getting paid $357 thats almost $1500 a month, my monthly car payment is $1208 so for me $604, so I'll have extra money, it'll probably go towards books, decorations for my room, and a plane ticket home and back since it's almost Christmas.

We walk outside of the dealership and there it is. My White, 2014 Lexus CT 200h. My hand tightens around my keys and I squeal a little bit with excitement.
"She's beautiful." Jonathan admires obviously, "Prettier than my piece of shit."
"Well if you start working then you can have one too." I tease.
"Yeah yeah. When do you start anyways?" He asks.
"Saturday. But I get all my training on Friday night." I say, not really paying attention to him because I'm staring at my car. We stand in quietly for a few more moments before Jonathan interrupts the silence.
"Well, aren't you going to get in it?" He asks. I nod quickly and jog over to it. I get in and put my key in the ignition. I roll my window down and look at him.
"See ya later loser!" I laugh and zoom away. When I get to a stop light Jonathan pulls up beside me and gives me the finger. I stick my tongue out at him and continue forward while he turns right to go home.
When I get home I park on the street and go inside.
"Hey guys! Come down here for a second!" I yell up the stairs. Soon Josh, Simon, Ethan, JJ and Vik are in front of me.
"Hey Olivia." Ethan says.
"Hi. Okay guys I need you to close your eyes and stand on the front lawn, then give me 10 seconds and then you can open them." I say. They all hesitantly close their eyes and walk outside. I run to my car and stand in front of it and pose, "OPEN YOUR EYES!" They all do and look confused for a second before jogging over.
"You got a car?" JJ asks.
"Yeah, you like?" I ask back.
"Yeah it's really nice." He responds.
"I mean its no lambo, but it suits me I think." I state.
"So you'll be driving yourself around from now on I guess." Josh says, "How did you pay for this?"
"Well my parents paid the down payment but I got a job too!" I tell them.
"Impressive. Where do you work?" Vik asks.
"Koko's, just a few blocks away." I tell him.
"Aren't their hours whack though?" JJ asks.
"Well yeah kinda but I'm going to be making about $357 a week so its lit." I laugh.
"What about school work?" Josh asks.
"I already don't have very much homework and I'll be home by 10:30 every night when I am working." I tell him, "And I work the early shifts on the weekends."
"Well I'm happy for you," Simon smiles. I walk over to him and he puts his arm around me. I lean on him and smile.
"So you gonna take me for a ride or what?" Ethan laughs.
"You wanna?" I ask excitedly.
"Of course!" Ethan replies. I smile and get into the car. He jogs around and gets into the passenger seat. I roll down the window and look at the guys.
"Theres only three seats in the back but Vik can sit on a lap." I laugh.
"No it's okay. Maybe some other time, gotta record." JJ tells me.
"Me too, sorry." Vik says.
"I'll come when its just us." Simon winks.
"Well I don't wanna third wheel so I guess I'll go edit." Josh says.
"Your loss guys." I roll up my window, "Okay Ethan, first stop is the electronics store so I can buy an aux cord and then wherever you want."

We get my aux cord and jam out to Drake (of course), then we get Pizza and then we get bubble tea. We take selfies and Ethan takes snapchats of me singing along to Hotline Bling and Marvins Room.
"Shit its almost 7." Ethan says. I hadn't even noticed it getting dark out.
"Fuck. Okay I'll take you to your flat." I tell him. I park the car in the parking garage so that he doesn't have to walk in the rain.
"Well you might as well come in and we can go see Jizzle, Bog, Lux and Freezy." Ethan laughs.
"So many nicknames," I laugh, "But okay."
We go up the elevator and go to Harry and the Cals' flat. I knock on the door and Cal (freezy) opens the door.
"Hey Olivia!" He says and puts his arms out to hug me. I accept the hug and stand on my tippy toes so I can put my arms around his neck, "What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Ethan forced me to come see you actually, but I'm glad I did." I say.
"Good I missed you. Are the rest of the guys here too?" He asks looking in the hallway.
"Oh, no. I drove Ethan and I here." I say, "I bought a car."
"Awesome! That means I'll be seeing you more?" Cal asks with a huge smile. Cal and I had gotten closer over the past few days, we've been texting a lot. He makes me laugh my ass off so I automatically love him.
"Ehhh, maybe not. I also got a job and I work everyday." I tell him.
"Mad. You're like a grown up now." He says. I laugh and roll my eyes.
"Shut up Callum, you're like 80." I say. Ethan laughs from behind me and Cal glares at me, he hates when I call him Callum, he says its too "mom-ish".
"HARRY, OLIVIA IS HERE," Cal yells, "Sorry, Cal isn't here."
"It's fine. Its only been like 4 days." I tell him. All of the sudden Harry slides across the floor, out from around the corner.
"Livy!" He says and runs full speed ahead at me. Harry and I are really close too. We barely saw each other on halloween so I'm pretty excited to see him too. I hug him tightly and he hugs me back.
"Hey Harold." I say. He hates when I call him by his full name too.
"So you have a car now?" Harry asks me.
"You heard?" I ask.
"I was eavesdropping. I was waiting to be invited into the conversation." Harry tells us.
"Oh. Well yeah I'm now free to drive anytime." I say.
"Good." Harry says. After that they invite me in and we play a game of Fifa. Around 8 I say bye and I drive home. When I get home I shower and put on one of Simon's t-shirts. I grab my phone and its charger. I quietly open Simon's door and I see that he's editing a video with headphones on. I silently get into his bed and watch him do his thing until I doze off to sleep.
