The Storm

"Damnit, you're right, the shops are closed." Usopp groaned once he saw that the shops were closed, hiding from the Storm that was about to strike at any minute. Herds and herds of dark stormy clouds approached the island, and not in a friendly manner. Sanji was in the Going Merry's kitchen, cooking five times faster than he usually did, but the food still turned out amazing.

(Y/N) Focused on the Inn, and teleported there mid-second, shocking the people who were having dinner.

"Ayane, do you have another free room?" (Y/N) shouted at the Innkeeper who was in the middle of wiping a glass.

'No. You gave your room to a young child and a pregnant mother, and now there's no more left.'

"Damnit, looks like I'll have to sleep on the ship."

She turned on her heel, and teleported back to the ship.

"SANJI, KEEP COOKING, THERE'S APPROXIMATELY HALF AN HOUR UNTIL THE STORM HITS!" (Y/N) screamed, head peeking into the kitchen.

'On it, On it, Cooked four days worth of food now.'

"FOUR DAYS OF FOOD EQUALS ONE MEAL FOR LUFFY, NOW KEEP COOKING!" (Y/N) Grabbed Beer bottles from the fridge, and rushed outside over to a sleeping Zoro.

"Zoro, wake up, a storm's going to hit in half an hour."

'No.' Zoro groggily replied, and within seconds, he was snoring.

"Well then, I'm going to drink all the booze on the ship, and You're not getting your share." The moment she said Booze, Zoro snapped awake, Eyes that screamed: "I'm gonna kill you."

"And if you want some, wake up. A storms coming. Actually, don't wake up. I've never had Booze before, and I really want to know what it tastes like."

'You've never had Booze before? I don't think that I've ever met someone who has never had booze before.'

"Nah, I'm afraid that I would reveal my identity while drunk. That happens to some people, doesn't it?"

'Yeah, it does. People have told me that I have a ability, which makes me able to drink vast amounts of booze without getting drunk.'

"Wish I had that power. Anyways, the storms coming, better pile up on some Booze if you don't want to remain sober for five straight days." (Y/N) gave him the booze that she had, and went into the women's quarters, where Nami and Vivi were relaxing in their hammocks, and the latter looked sound asleep, almost as if she was dead.

"Oh, (Y/N), you okay?" Nami said, sitting upright in her 'Bed', waking Vivi up.

'Yeah, I'm fine. The storm's going to hit in twenty minutes, and Sanji's cooked four days worth of food, but in Luffy's case, one meal.' (Y/N) said, looking for a place to sleep.

'He does have a bottomless pit stomach.' Vivi added, yawning.

"Oh yeah, where're you sleeping?"

'Um... The couch's too small, and there's hardly any space...'

'(Y/N) can sleep in the kitchen.'

'Bad idea. It's going to be a terrible storm soon, rain, hail, and even blizzards will hit. The kitchen isn't warm enough. My brother and I slept the dining room of the Inn when we got there, and when the storm cleared, we were slowly dying of hypothermia.'

'Blizzards? But it was so warm out there.'

'Never be fooled by the weather. it might be 20 degrees (68 degrees fahrenheit for you Americans) out there, but it gets minus ten degrees during the night, with this weather.'

(Y/N) sighed, and fell into the couch, looking up at the wooden ceiling, and closed her eyes.

"GUYS, YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS!" a voice echoed through the room, jolting (Y/N) awake.

'What is it Chopper?' Nami asked, looking at the reindeer with a concerned look.

"JUST... LOOK AT THIS."

(Y/N) sat up, threw her cloak around her back, and the three ran out onto the deck. The Storm clouds were much closer now, and (Y/N) Couldn't see the three meters in front of the ship because it was so dark.

Five more minutes...

The Clouds brought rain and east wind, none actually pummelling the ship. However, one thing for sure, the east winds were insanely high, and it was near impossible for (Y/N) to not get carried away by the wind. The wind whistled through the deck, blowing her hair onto her face, and she could hardly see. A loud BANG came from the kitchen, and the shape of Sanji came rushing out the kitchen, with plates and plates of food. Usopp and Zoro were right behind them, carrying the rest of the dishes over to the trapdoor down to their rooms.

"You guys have some too, there's plenty in the kitchen." Sanji said, gesturing to the gusted open kitchen door.

(Y/N) walked alongside the wind, trying not to get blown overboard. Hell, In this weather, staying put was a challenge, Not getting blown overboard was almost impossible.

Just a meter from the door, she stopped. Amongst the deafening whistling of the large gales that would be enough to uproot a tree, she heard something.

Wailing.

A child's wailing.

Coming from the streets.

Although (Y/N) was an assassin, she did care for people. Especially the helpless. If she was ordered to kill someone, she'll do it. But she'll never harm a child.

Yet alone watch one die.

She leaped off the deck, and looked around for the source. She had mastered the technique of seeing in the dark a long time ago, in order to be able to catch sight of targets hiding in the dark, and in the shadows, she saw a small silhouette, leaning up against a tree, trying not to get blown away to their deaths. She rushed over to the child, and shielded her in her arms, Cloak covering the poor child. She had Pink hair tied up into two cute pigtails, and wore a dress the same colour.

"Mama?" She said, looking up at (Y/N) with large green eyes that shone with tears.

(Y/N) didn't answer. She just looked around for a nearby house, and one caught her eye. In the dark, she could see a window with a woman with the exact green eyes as the child, banging on the window, and when (Y/N) went against the wind, she lost control.

She went flying.

Along with the child.

Into the sea.

(Y/N) had no idea what was happening, and luckily, she landed head just above the surface, so she could breathe.

God... Why am I... so tired...

With every breath, (Y/N) felt weaker, as if she had taken the challenge of going five days without sleep. She shook that feeling away, and concentrated on getting the child back to her mother. She grabbed the warm, wailing child, and with all the strength left in her body, she kicked, a few waves washing over her head. The weak feeling, nausea, and light-headedness didn't stop her however, as the determination inside her was an undistinguishable fire, and she kept on kicking. Slowly, the black surrounding her vision drew closer to the center, unable to hold her breath any longer. The sea filled her lungs to the brim, and she was getting weaker and weaker. She almost felt like a plant, swaying and at the mercy of the current. An odd sense of calm came over her like a wave... A wave of dark clouding her eyes...

With the last living energy she had left inside of her, she threw the child over to the house, strength going against the wind, and the woman caught her daughter, hugging her tightly as she heaved the door closed.

So... I'm going to drown... For real this time... Zoro's not going to save me... Nobody is... Oh well, I'm looking forward to meeting Mom and Dad again...

In the sea, she smiled.

In the face of death.
