I pushed through the crowd in a desperate search for him. I circled the huge house, ending up in a smaller room with only a couple people in.

"Hey," a tall guy with dark hair and a nice smile approached me. "I'm Dane."

"Um, Blaire," I replied uncomfortably.

"Cool, can I get you something to drink?" He asked and I shook my head vigorously, causing him to laugh. "Well then want to go dance?" He asked.

"Uh, I was actually looking for my boyfriend," I said, stepping away.

"He doesn't have to know," Dane smirked, coming closer, I backed up.

"Yeah, I'll be leaving," I responded, turning to go.

"Aw c'mon, who's your boyfriend anyways?"

"Theo Rankoff," I said, crossing my arms. Dane's eyes widened,

"Oh god, please don't tell him I was hitting on you, I'm sorry," Dane blurted out and ran away. I chuckled to myself, Theo must have quite the reputation. I exited the room and went into the living room where most of the people were. I wandered around until I spotted Theo, running his hands through his hair, looking worried. We made eye contact and he ran over to me, wrapping his arms around me.

"Oh my God, Blaire, where were you?" He asked, his forehead creased.

"Where were you?" I shot back.

"Looking for you!"

I sighed and stepped into his arms, he wrapped his arms around me and we stood there for a couple seconds.

"Wanna go dance?" I asked hopefully, he smiled and nodded, leading me into the center of the action. Nobody really 'danced,' they just moved their bodies to the sound of the music, like jumping. Theo and I bounced around together, laughing and yelling over the sound of the music. The music slowed into a prettier song, my face burned as Theo set his hands on my waist and pulled me closer. I put my hands on his shoulders and we swayed along to the song, Theo stepped closer to me and I put my head on his chest. I breathed in the smell of his cologne and forgot everything going on at home. The only thing that mattered was Theo and I.

"That was so much fun," I breathed as we got back into the car. "I wish it didn't have to end."

"Yeah," Theo replied. "Maybe it doesn't have too end," he winked at me and I smiled. Then it hit me, we weren't actually dating, he only did that to keep me safe from creepy guys, Theo and I promised each other we'd only be friends.

"Theo," I laughed. "We're out of the party, you can drop the whole 'I'm your girlfriend' act." I smiled and he smiled back, but something flashed across his face, something like hurt, but it soon went away.

"Maybe not 'girlfriend,'" he replied. "But what about 'best friend?'" He grinned and I smiled and nodded.

"Of course," I said. Theo smiled and nodded his head, starting up the car. I laughed and talked through the ride until we came to a stop, but it wasn't my house.

"Oh you going to make me walk home?" I joked, laughing, Theo laughed and shook his head.

"Nope, my family's not coming home until the weekend's over, and it's only Friday," he winked and I rolled my eyes. "So you and I are going to have a movie night."

I smiled, a movie with Theo sounded almost perfect.

"Okay," I agreed, hopping out of the car.

"Yay!" Theo said in his little kid voice, I laughed and rolled my eyes.

Wait...

What am I getting myself into?

He might be my best friend, but he's still a player. I don't think I trust this...or him. I made up my mind by stepping into his house and closing the door behind me. I took a deep breath and looked at Theo's smiling face.

"Follow me," he said, taking my hand. We walked through the halls of his house until we came to a white door that blended in with the walls.

"Close your eyes," Theo instructed, I rolled my eyes but closed them grudgingly. He took my hand a carefully lead me down a flight of stairs. I finally stepped onto a cushiony carpet that I could feel under my shoes. Theo let go of my hand and I heard a click.

"Okay, open," I heard him say. I opened my eyes and a gasp escaped my mouth.
