She never knew.

She never knew how strong a bond could be between two people until she met him.

She never knew how beautiful the color blue was until she looked into his eyes and saw such a hue that would bring the sky to its knees.

She never knew how much she needed him to do something as simple as sleep well, for her body had grown to the security and comfort provided by his and she couldn't settle until his arms were around her and his lips were against her skin.

She never knew such vulnerability in a person until she felt her shirt soaked by his tears and her hands grabbed shakily by his own, needing her just as she needed him.

She never knew pleasure until she felt his lips parting against her own, molding with her skin and sweetly sucking at her tender flesh with a desire for her to feel loved and protected by him.

She never knew what naked was until he stripped himself before her. Clothes, lies, past troubles, fears, insecurities, nor did she ever expect to be naked to anyone else in the world.

She never felt euphoria until she felt his hands and lips between her legs, him entirely inside of her, inside of her body, inside of her soul. Him leaving part of himself behind inside of her. Past the spots anyone had ever been in.

She never knew beauty until she looked down to her chest and saw him staring up at her sleepily, breathing heavily, eyes drooping and heart beating slowly.

She never felt comfort until she woke with her limbs tangled with his, and the unbreakable bond they had created feeling as warm within her as the morning sun upon their faces through the sheer curtains in her home.

She never felt sadness until his his face was pressed against her belly, crying with a fear that could only be conquered by them being together as one.

She never felt shock until she saw him lying there, covered in blood - his blood, unknowing if he would ever be the same again.
