“Alright, love?” He asked. The blonde was still starring. I nodded as a response. The blonde looked like one of those people that makes your life a living Hell, and that was far from what I needed, so I didn’t want to give her reasons to do so.
“Lost your voice then?” He asked again, making me roll my eyes.
“No.” I mumbled, trying my best to avoid looking at him. I felt weird that someone I had just met was already having such an impact on me.
The class quickly filled up, and a tall boy with dirty blonde hair took a seat in front of me. He gave me a warm smile, before awkwardly eyeing Harry.
“Hi. I’m Jacob.” He introduced himself and we shook hands. He seemed nice. You know, like a normal boy (cough cough Harry).
“Belle.” I replied, giving him an equally warm smile. I could feel Harrys body slightly stiffen. Thankfully, before any more chit chat was made, the teacher rushed in, apologizing for being late.
He didn’t make me get up and introduce myself or anything, thank God, but he did point out that the class had gained a new student, and when all of their eyes fell on me, my cheeks flushed.
The lesson carried on. The class was in the middle of studying Romeo and Juliet, and already having read this play about a hundred times, I would have no problem catching up. Although I wish I would have been able to have paid more attention to the teacher, but at times I could feel Harrys eyes on me, which left me flustered.
The bell finally rung and we were dismissed. Harry and I stood up at the same time. The last thing I wanted was to walk with him.
“So, Belle, maybe I could help you catch up on the work…since you are new and all?” Dan questioned, as we walked out of the room side by side. Harry walked behind us. Like I said, I wouldn’t really be needing any help “catching up” but Jacob seemed nice.
“Um, sure?” My reply sounded more like a question, but honestly I had no idea how to talk to boys. I was getting more attention from them on my first day at this school than I ever had in my whole life.
“Great!” Jacob exclaimed. We exchanged numbers, and I made my way out of the school, towards the parking lot. Harry still behind me. I sighed, loudly before turning around. His eyes holding a strong gaze on me.
“Are you following me?” I asked him.
“I am going to my car.” He spat back. Great. Now I looked like an idiot. I turned away, but before I could take a step further, my arm was gently pulled back.
“You’re not really gonna hang out with him, are you?” Harry asked, his eyes on his shoes.
“Um, probably.” I replied, trying to pull my arm away from his touch. I can’t believe he is touching me. “Why would it matter to you?” He finally shoved his hand into his pocket, and looked up at me.
“Just promise you won’t hang out with him.” He said, not answering my question.
“I will hang out with whoever I please.” I scoffed. Who does this guy think he is? Then again, I was no better. One minute I am swooning over his touch, the next I am annoyed as hell by him. Note that I have only known him for a day.
“Belle…” He pleaded as I turned away again and made my way toward the car. My name sounded like music coming from his lips.
“Have a goodnight, Harry.” I said without looking back at him.
