First Day of Senior Year.
Stiles POV:
Today is the first day of senior year. I know back to school- ugh.
But this year is going to be different. I mean, it's senior year.
My phone buzzed and I looked down to see the text from my best friend Lydia. "You here?" I pulled up into my usual parking space right as she texted me.
I've known Lydia Martin my entire life. The 5"4' strawberry blonde beauty has lived next door to me my entire life. Our parents were best friends and we were best friends. She completed me and I completed her. It's just the way we work. Like brother and sister.
I pulled up into the driveway and sent Lydia a quick text. "Here :)" "Okay, I'm coming."
I see Lydia walk out of her house and smile at me as she makes her way over to my rusty blue Jeep. "Morning Stiles!" she says opening the Jeep door. "Morning! Someone's a little excited this morning May I ask why?" "Can't I just be happy in the morning Stiles? Do I have to have a reason?"
"Considering that in the seventeen years I've known you, you've never been a morning person, yes, I would like to know why you're so excited the morning of our first day of school."
"I have a date next week." "Oh. Who with?"
"A new guy at school. His name is Aiden."
"Oh."
Lydia's POV:
I could've sworn I saw Stiles' face sadden as I told him I had a date.
No. Lydia you can't think like that. It's just Stiles. Stiles Stilinski. The same old Stiles that you've known for ages and ages. Stiles-late night Uno sessions- Stilinski.
"Um Lydia are you listening?"
I snapped out of my little mind discussion and turned to him. "Yeah, yeah, sorry. I was just thinking." "Thinking about what?" "I was just thinking about these car rides. I mean, you've been giving me these rides since the beginning of last year and well, we're nearing the end of high school, so that means we're nearing the end of these car rides too."
Tears began welling up in my eyes. Sure I was excited for senior year, but was I really ready to let it all go? We left our elementary schools to go to our middle schools and then we left there to go to our high schools. We had just fit in to our schools and now we were leaving.
"The Stilinski car service will always be yours to ride Lyds!"
I giggled. If anyone knew how to brighten my mood up, it was Stiles. "And whether you want to have me in your life or not- I will always be there."
We pulled up into the school parking lot.
"It's our last first day of high school ever," I said as Stiles grabbed my hand.
We walked into the school hand in hand with big smiles plastered on our faces. Allison and Scott joined us midway and I knew in this moment that nothing gold could stay, but our friendship was so pure that it could last forever.
A/N: Yes, I quoted- well kinda quoted- Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay. If this fanfiction works out how I want it to, this poem will have a very big significance in certain scenes. I hope you guys enjoyed this update and I'll be back soon to update it. Please vote, add this story, and comment. Thank you guys- love you all <3
