Chapter 11

Alexis's POV

I woke up wrapped in Shawn's arms. I groaned as I felt his arm on the side. I moved his hand up a little and cuddled into him more. I breathed in his scent and sighed in content. I felt him start to wake up and smiled at him as he opened his eyes. He smiled slightly back at me.

" Morning." I said cheerfully and he chuckled at me.

" Good morning." He said. He sat up and I followed. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and he tensed up a bit. I frowned at him and moved away.

" I'm sorry." I said looking down. He sighed and lifted my chin to look at him. When he touched my face, I felt sparks go through me.

" It's alright. You don't have to apologize. I'm still getting used to this whole thing. Let's just take it slow, yeah?" He asked. I nodded and he smiled.

" Alright. Are you hungry?" He asked me and I nodded quickly. He chuckled and grabbed my hand. I smiled and he led me downstairs. We walked into the room with the metal box and he opened it. I stared at it curiously and he turned towards me.

" Why are you looking at it like that?" He asked me.

" What is it?" I asked him.

" It's a fridge." He said.

" A fridge. What does it do?" I asked him. He titled his head to the side and looked at me.

" You put food in it and it keeps it cold." He said and I nodded. I walked around the room and looked at everything.

" Do you not know what everything is?" He asked me and I shook my head.

" My pack..." I stopped to correct myself with a sigh.

" My old pack and I lived in the forest. My father who was the alpha, hated the human world so he would not allow us to know anything about it. We live in the woods in tents. All I know about the human world is what I have seen. I know about cars, the fridge, and the tv." I said to him. He seemed shocked by what I said.

" Really? Your father is an asshole." He said to me. I turned my head to the side in question.

" He's a meanie." He said to me. I frowned and looked down at the floor. He walked over to me and lifted my chin.

" I know what your father did and he's stupid." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

" How did you..." He cut me off.

" I ran into your friends Justin and Cooper when I went looking for you." He said and my eyes widened. I grabbed his arm and held tightly.

" You need to stay away from there Shawn. If my father catches you in his territory, he will kill you. I can't lose you too. Please stay away from there." I said with tears forming in my eyes.

" Hey don't cry." Shawn said wiping at my eyes.

" You're all I have left. I know you don't feel the mate bond like I do but I need you. Promise me you won't go near there?" I asked and stuck out my pinky.

" I promise." He said sticking his pinky out and interlocking them together. I smiled and hugged him. He automatically hugged back and then let go. He went back over to where he took the food out and started cooking it. He brought it to a smaller metal box.

" This is a stove. You use it to cook things." He said and I nodded. He made breakfast and told me the name of things in the kitchen. He gave me human food that he called eggs and bacon. It tasted so good. Once he was done, he put it in the sink. He walked me into the room with the tv and the couch. He explained to me that the moving pictures were called tv shows. We watched to shows for most of the day and then he showed me upstairs. He led me into what he calls the bathroom.

" This right here is called a toilet. You use it to go to the bathroom and then you flush it and wash your hands in the sink." He said and I nodded.

" This here is the shower. You use it to clean yourself." He said again and I nodded.

" You should probably take a shower. Clean yourself up." He said.

" How do I work it?" I asked him.

" You use this to turn on the water and change the temperature. When the water is on, you pull this and turn on the shower head. You then use this to wash your hair. It's called shampoo and then you use this one, which is conditioner. You will use this to wash your body and then when you're done, you turn the shower off." He said.

" Okay." I said. He left the bathroom and closed the door. I did what he said and turned the water on. I gasped when I felt how warm the water was. I am use to bathing in cold water. I stepped into the water and did as Shawn said. Once I was done, I shook my body and hair to get the access water off. I got out of the shower and went back to Shawn's room. I opened the door and he looked up at me. He blushed and then quickly looked down.

" You're supposed to put a towel around yourself." He said and I looked down at myself.

" I'm sorry." I said.

" Don't worry about it but next time, wrap a towel around yourself." He said and I nodded. He went to grab some clothes for me and I put them on. Once I was done, I sat on the edge of his bed with my legs crossed.

" We need to brush your hair out." He said grabbing something. He brought it towards me and I moved away from it.

" Don't worry. It may hurt a little but it is going to help and make your hair soft and nice." He said and I nodded slowly. He used the brush to brush my hair and it did hurt a little but Shawn was gentle. Once he was done, he left it out and ran a hand through it. I sighed in content and smiled. He leaned against the wall on the bed and I sat across from him.

" So what do you think of the human world so far?" He asked me.

" It's amazing but also scary. There are a lot of things I don't know about. The human world is a little weird." I said and he chuckled.

" You will get used to it. How about we go do some exploring tomorrow?" He asked me. I nodded excitedly and he smiled.

" How about we go to sleep?" He asked. I nodded and he laid down. I followed and cuddled into him. He sighed and pulled me into him.

" Goodnight Shawn." I said to him putting my head on his chest.

" Goodnight Alexis." He said. I closed my eyes and fell asleep shortly after.
